The flavors and outstanding quality of the wine here attract over two million visitors every year. A special tasting room is incorporated into the premises, allowing groups of up to 10 people sample some of the finest wines the company offers. The tasting room is officially open from Easter until Christmas, however it is possible to contact the staff in advance to arrange a visit outside of this period.
Sentier Viticole des Grands Crus
Musée du Dolder
Museum
Classified as a ‘Museum of France’, the Musée du Dolder exhibits historical items and artefacts revealing the rich and varied past of Riquewihr. Several medieval weapons, guns and fortification parts are on display, successfully and interestingly illustrating the town’s transformation from the 12th to the 17th century. Entry is €4, and it is open from April to November ever year.
Dopff & Irion
Winery
Founded in the 16th century, Dopff & Irion is a wine-growing estate at the forefront of wine production in Riquewihr, a prestigious place it has occupied since the Middle Ages. The vineyard is divided into four estates for wine production, and the L’Exception 2008 Cremant Pinot Gris, as well as the 2010 Grand Cru Schoenenbourg Riesling are particularly delicious and highly recommended for purchase.
