Nice is a great cultural destination, with its large range of art galleries, historical attractions, brilliant restaurants and a buzzing nightlife. There are few better ways to experience the gorgeous French Riviera than walking along the famous Promenade des Anglais, or to spend a February than soaking up the fantastic atmosphere of one of the largest carnivals in the world. Here, we share the best places to stay in Nice.

1. Hotel Villa Victoria

Budget Hotel

Located on the prestigious Boulevard Victor Hugo, the Villa Victoria is one of the city’s best boutique places to stay and an ideal choice for a romantic getaway in Nice. The hotel’s guest rooms come with a classic mediterranean feel, putting an emphasis on guest comfort and detailed orientated design, with each featuring an impressive view over the hotel’s private garden or the sun-drenched boulevard, floor to ceiling windows and luxury bedding included as standard. If you’re looking for somewhere to take a relaxing respite in the sun, be sure to pop down to Villa Victoria’s private terrace, which has a full bar service offering everything from tea, fresh juices or even a glass of champagne.

2. Palais Saleya Boutique

Boutique Hotel

Well suited for guests looking to spend a little longer in the city and to explore everything it has to offer on their own terms, Palais Saleya features a collection of spacious suites and sleek apartments. Built into a former residential block dating back to the 18th century, the hotel offers guests a choice of one or two bedroom apartments which come lovingly furnished and feature everything you’d need for a relaxing stay. If you’re wanting a true home away from home experience, why not book one of Palais Saleya’s spacious suites, featuring fully fitted kitchenettes, Italian showers and daily housekeeping services.

3. La Malmaison

Hotel, Boutique Hotel

Found in the very heart of the city, La Malmaison is a chic boutique place to stay in Nice just a short walk from some of its best attractions, including the Old Town, the beach and the popular Promenade des Anglais. Styled after the roaring 20s, La Malmaison brings an art deco atmosphere to it’s design. If you’re looking for the best places to visit around the city, you can download La Malmaisons intuitive ‘e-Concierge’ app, which includes such helpful features like info on Nice’s top visitor spots, booking hotel services and direct messaging to the hotel’s front desk.

4. Hotel Le Grimaldi

Hotel, Boutique Hotel

A fun and fresh boutique guesthouse just a short walk from the Promenade des Anglais, Hotel Le Grimaldi is a fantastic option by the popular Happyculture Brand. The hotel’s rooms are carefully crafted, with charmingly colourful interiors and a great mix of traditional furnishings with modern features. A great starting point for exploring everything the city has to offer, Hotel Le Grimaldi is just around the corner from Nice’s picturesque beachfront, which channels that classic ‘Belle Epoque’ atmosphere, as well as the city’s ever popular flower market.

For an experience of a real Niçois villa, dating back almost a century, Hotel Villa Les Cygnes is a charming hotel that is just a stone’s throw from the magnificent 19th century Musée des Beaux-Arts. Small and personal with a gorgeous artistic décor, it is one of the best places to stay in Nice and more like staying in a grand guest house, complete with a beautiful private living room. Its lovely garden is a spot of paradise within this city and is a great location to enjoy the hotel’s extensive, authentic French breakfast.

7. Hotel Le Negresco

Hotel

Located on the simply dazzling Promenade des Anglais, with its fantastic views of the Côte d’Azur, Hotel Le Negresco is in a brilliant position, and its décor and charm at least match the quality of its location. The whole building is beautiful, offering modern comforts while retaining many historical aspects from when it was founded in 1913, including authentic chandeliers. It is one of Nice’s best places to stay and this hotel could even be an art museum itself, with its superb collection of antiques and original pieces. If you’re looking to make the trip a truly memorable one, be sure to stop by the Negresco’s Michelin starred in-house restaurant, the Chantecler, a fine dining experience serving the best local cuisine in a stylish setting.
