Cité Internationale is a quarter of Lyon located in the north of the city. Renowned for its artistic focus as the home of Lyon’s Museum for Contemporary Arts, as well as a center for businessmen and women, the district is a hub for commerce and culture. The site is enclosed in architecturally impressive and contemporary buildings, with a plethora of restaurants and stylish bars. 1. Le Lounge

This bar is located in Cité Internationale’s Hotel Crown Plaza. Le Lounge boasts a stylish interior and is decorated with contemporary furnishings such as comfortable leather sofas and low hanging lights for romantic lighting and ambiance. As well as the extensive range of wines and cocktails on offer for the hotel’s customers, there is also a selection of cheese boards and cured meat platters that are the perfect accompaniment to some fine French wine.

Suelta Verde

Suelta Verde is an authentic Mexican restaurant that doubles up as a bar. The concept of the bar adheres to a rustic Mexican theme, serving classic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. The bartenders use typical alcoholic spirits originating from Latin America to conjure up a Mexican vibe. What’s more, the bar is colorful and vibrant, with Latin music completing the feel. Customers can enjoy the lively interior or sit outside on the terrace.

2. Spark Bar

This riverfront bar is located in another one of Cité Internationale’s hotels, the Lyon Marriott. This bar is not on the ground floor and therefore has spectacular views over the wide green space that makes up Tête d’Or park, the Rhône river that dissects the city in two, and the metropolitan expanse of Lyon stretching off into the distance. The bar has an extensive drinks menu, featuring classic cocktails and various national wines, all in this luxurious setting.

Lips Café

This bar is a favorite amongst the businessmen and women who work in this particular district of the city. After a hard day’s work, the bartenders at Lips Café are on hand to help customers unwind late into the night. The fittings and décor are contemporary and chic in style, suiting the young professional crowd it primarily attracts. The evenings at this bar continue well into the small hours, especially on nights when local DJs are playing.

Situated in the heart of the Cité Internationale district is this classic French bistro that doubles as a wine bar. Comptoir JOA is mainly a brasserie, but is also a popular choice among residents for meeting friends for drinks.
