Biarritz has a fairly good amount of excellent restaurants, but not all have a seaside view, which is without a doubt the icing on the cake. If you spend some time in Biarritz, check out these places where you will have the privilege to enjoy both.

Bar de la Côte

Spend a wonderful time in an easy-going atmosphere at the Bar de la Côte right in front the mythic Côtes des Basques beach. Sit by the terrace for lunch or come at sundown and have a glass of wine from the wine list before dinner. The chef loves incorporating local products in his cuisine to the customers’ greatest pleasure. Make sure to check their rooftop, which offers an astonishing panoramic view of the coast.

Magasin Bellevue

Although the Magasin Bellevue‘s opening is fairly recent, this unique “coffee-art store” has already become one of Biarritz’s locals’ favorites. Facing the Grande Plage, this is the right place to have a healthy late breakfast-turned-lunch or an afternoon snack while enjoying the art of some of the most talented artists in the region.

Le Tandem

You might want to book a table before going to Le Tandem, as this nicely decorated restaurant, located on the fabulous Place Eugénie, has a fantastic view of the ocean. The varied and delicious menu and the very friendly and efficient staff will make things even better! The buddha bowl, and the chicken burger are among the many tasteful dishes you should try while eating there.

The Sofitel Biarritz Le Miramar Thalassa sea & spa is notorious for its wonderful thalassotherapy treatments and luxurious amenities, and the Restaurant Le B adds even more value to its already exceptional pedigree. The chef perfectly knows the local goodies and masters the art of mixing the best regional delicacies into well-balanced dishes. Vegans should try the excellent vegan veggie-based lasagna.

Of course, you can sit there and taste one of their innovative salads (the seaweed salad is a must), soups, and sandwiches. You can also request their catering service if needed.

The Café de la Grande Plage at Casino Barrière is a brasserie a few meters away from the Grande Plage that stands out by its inventive and refined cuisine. The products come from the terroir and if you like fish, visit the restaurant on Friday evenings and enjoy the unlimited seafood buffet.

Eating in the Port-Vieux area is always a good idea, so eating at Les Baigneuses is surely a great one! Considered by some regulars as “Biarritz’s most beautiful terrasse,” one thing for sure is that you are in great hands. You will appreciate the team’s warm welcome and the cozy ambiance. The recipes are original and well executed. Once you’re done with your meal, you should go to the rooftop to end your evening on an even higher note.

Etxola Bibi
