The Best Independent Bookstores in Tampere

Picture of Jessica Wood
Updated: 20 November 2017
Tampere’s cultural scene consists of more than just the quirky museums and unusual art galleries. Its independent bookstores are just as unique with their own local colour, thanks to the large population, masses of university students, and businesses based in the city. These are some of the top indie bookstores in Tampere to find books on any subject:

Laita Puoti

Galleria Rajatila is a non-profit art gallery which not only showcases work by the up-and-coming artists of Tampere, but also sells self-published collections of their works in the shop, Laita Puoti. It helps these artists to gain more exposure and revenue from their work and get their careers started. The store also sells a range of other printed material including postcards, comics, and poetry books from Tampere’s indie creators.
