Designer Blanka Matragi is just as relevant today as she was when she started her career over 30 years ago. Matragi lived in Beirut, where her robes and gowns became favorites among royalty. She returned to Prague and her boutique is now the place to visit if you’re looking for high end, handmade clothes that are all about the details (think crystal embroidery and hand painted silk). Although the brand specializes in cocktail and party dresses, Matragi also designs ready to wear blouses and fun dresses you could wear to a casual dinner or even a night out in the town.

Chatty

Store

Chatty is all about custom denim and high end streetwear that leaves an impression. The company’s avant-garde street fashion has become so popular that it has been seen in many commercials (from Marlboro to L’Oreal) and has received several fashion awards. Chatty’s love of denim doesn’t mean you’ll walk out of the store with “regular” jeans. In fact, expect exactly the opposite. The focus is on extravagant details such as wax paint, bold color, asymmetrical cuts and oversize fits.

TIQE

Store

Petra Balvínová’s TIQE is all about ready to wear designs that are super feminine and light, but also ultra modern. A tall order when you are using puffy sleeves, lace and ruffles. TIQUE is the go to designer for romantic clothing that is practical enough to wear for a night out with friends or even a classic day at the office.

Chi-Chi

Designer Josefina Bakošová created Chi-Chi back in 2007, although she’s been moving towards abandoning the brand and just releasing designs under her own name since the end of 2016. Bakošová has a background in theater costume design, so it’s no surprise that her clothing is dramatic, all asymmetrical shapes, bold cuts and unconventional details. A favorite of many Czech stars and personalities, Chi-Chi offers street smart design that is also very wearable.

LAFORMELA

The brainchild of three Czech/Slovakian designers, LAFORMELA’s goal has always been to be different. It doesn’t take more than a quick look at their collections to see that. By including bold colors and prints, experimental cuts, extravagant but exclusive designs and voluminous shapes, their collections really stand out. Made for the bold and creative, these are designs that will get you noticed. LAFORMELA clothes are ideal for layering, with dresses that go particularly well over trousers and sleeveless jackets that are great for completing a skirt and T-shirt ensemble.
