From scenic shots to carefully choreographed artistic portraits, here are some of Austria’s best up-and-coming photographers to watch out for.

Lukas Kogler

Lukas captures scenic portraits from all around the globe, including shots from his home country of Austria. His Instagram account has attracted around 20,000 followers and counting. Focusing primarily on epic natural landscapes, including many a majestic mountainous shot and idyllic ocean views, his snaps are sheer eye candy.

Elena Boerner

Elena’s shots are thoughtfully captured, with a sensitive, artistic elegance. Her portfolio primarily features atmospheric portraits of people during intimate moments. At just 21 years old, Graz-based Elena is one to watch. Check out more of her work here.

Peter takes stunning shots of natural landscapes, taken from his travels from around the world. He has a keen and sensitive eye for picturesque shots, always capturing scenes bursting full of vitality and colour. Vienna-based traveller and photographer Patrick’s shots will leave you yearning to explore the cities he captures. Laurent Ziegler

Laurent is a freelance photographer and visual artist, born and based in Vienna with a preference for capturing dramatic, thought-provoking shots. After studying Political Sciences at the University of Vienna, he went on to focus on his photography career and has since had numerous solo exhibitions, including many in his home city. In 2009 he worked on an ‘arts in education’ program for photography in Sri Lanka. More of his work can be seen here.

Magdalena Zeisel

This 16-meter long photo collage (pictured below) was produced by Magdalena for the Vienna ImpulsTanz Festival 30th anniversary in 2013, capturing workshops from the event. The energetic shots were designed to focus on the relationship between movement and space, intending to introduce a ‘new aesthetic quality.’ Other work that Magdalena has produced includes a photo and video series exploring the ‘performance capacity’ of light and translucent materials.

Sandra De Keller

The work featured below, entitled ‘Studio On Wheels’, was inspired by Sandra’s nostalgia for her first car and were shot while driving around in Ibiza, when she used the vehicle as her studio space. The exhibition, featuring various shots taken of the back of an old Renault car, was featured in an LA show last year as part of the ‘Broad Strokes’ series – an exhibition designed to draw attention to female photographers.

Christian Majcen

Christian has an amazing eye for natural beauty. The 44-year-old Austrian landscape photographer, who has captured some majestic shots of his awe-inspiring homeland, has gathered almost 5,000 Instagram followers.

Kerstin Hammerschmid

Kerstin is a passionate and innovative fashion and beauty photographer who has worked with the likes of PUMP and Elegant magazines. The shots that she captures often feature models in experimental and intriguing scenes and she certainly is a name to look out for on the Austrian fashion scene. Check out more of her work here.

Lukas Pellmann

Vienna-based Lukas captures charming shots of the up and coming 2nd district of his home city, Leopoldstadt, from the fairground rides of the Prater to the graffiti-covered strips of the Danube Canal. He also writes a blog about the district, giving tips on all the best cultural sites to check out. His Instagram has almost 13,000 followers and counting.
