Top Culture Trips for an Original Travel Experience
Take a left turn and book an original travel experience that delivers something different in the best way possible.
After ticking off the traditional tourist routes, it’s about time you took the road less travelled. No matter how many times you’ve trekked the globe, you’re yet to truly see it all. From ancient winemaking in Georgia to elephant-spotting in Sri Lanka and tribal hangouts in Kenya, there’s no end to the unique excursions you can take if you know where to look. These Culture Trips will not only take you to some of the world’s most unique countries, but also show you a different side to some of the most popular travel destinations around.
Georgia and the Caucasus
You probably don’t know many people who’ve visited Georgia, but share a few worthy snaps of this continent-crossing country on your socials and we’re pretty sure that your friends will be chomping at the bit to join our nine-day trip high in the Caucasus Mountains. This place has everything, from ancient cultures and Unesco World Heritage sites to an incredible food and drink scene, as well as obscenely epic natural scenery. We’ll explore it all, starting with a market visit, a unique cooking class and a workshop exploring the country’s ancient winemaking techniques in Tbilisi. The adventures really get going as we venture out to hike in the forests of Lagodekhi National Park, before winding along the roads of the Jvari Pass to Stepantsminda, where we’ll embark on a stunning trek in the Caucasus to the fairytale Gergeti church, which stands in the shadow of the towering Mount Kazbegi. All of that hard work will be rewarded back in Tbilisi with a soothing soak in the city’s unique sulphur baths.
Discover Jordan
One perk of solo travel? Skipping the crowded queues at the world’s best sites – and you’ll find plenty of those in Jordan. The Wadi Ghurab sandstone mountains are your detour to Petra’s backdoor. This pink Nabataean city is stunning and worth the trek. Looking for hues without the hike? How about the otherworldly desert expanses of Wadi Rum, where we’ll spend a night glamping under the stars. Add in a visit to the Red Sea, followed by a visit to the more surreal Dead Sea, and this trip through Jordan will colour your holiday with culture, cuisine and unforgettable camping experiences.
