The options often vary and there are few terms and conditions, but who cares if it’s free, right? From Iceland to Canada, Hawaii to Finland, here are eight airlines you can snag a free stopover from.

Everyone’s fav ultra-cheap airline, WOW Air, gives all its passengers the chance to stop, chill and explore the land of Ice and Fire, at absolutely no additional cost at all. FinnAir…
Anyone flying Finnair can enjoy a free Finland stopover for up to five days at no additional cost whatsoever. The stopover is also applicable to adventurers flying via Helsinki, and includes activities that range from seeing the magical Northern Lights to pampering yourself in one of the country’s famed saunas.
Air Canada…
If your connection time is longer than six hours you can get a free stopover in Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver with Air Canada at no additional charge. Added bonus: Hotels are also free for customers flying business class, premium, and economy. Score!
IcelandAir…
Explorers who travel on this lovely little airline can take full advantage of up to seven nights of a free stopover in Reykjavík. What to do here? Have a dip in the Blue Lagoon, hike volcanic terrains and leap off cascading waterfalls. You can also take advantage of the the airline’s Stopover Buddy program, where a local will take you to some of the country’s hidden wonders – FREE of charge!
Etihad Airways…
First class, business class, and Residence guests flying on confirmed Etihad Airway tickets through Abu Dhabi will get a free stopover with Etihad Airways. What’s even better is that you can get a free tour of Abu Dhabi, and even get a a free additional night at a hotel if you stay more than two nights.
Japan Airways…
Japan Airways‘ free stopover program varies on destination, but customers can score a free layover in Tokyo on all flights that originate from the US, Mexico and Canada.
KLM…
All KLM fliers can nab a two free stopovers (yes, two!) in Amsterdam, as all passengers are entitled to at least one free stopover on the the outbound ticket and another free stopover on the inbound ticket.
