Destroying a treasured landmark? The world’s gone mad, you must be thinking. While the world has admittedly gone a bit doolally, we don’t think any of us would have forgiven these countries for almost toppling these incredible icons.

So what of this news? Travel booking firm Globehunters has been busy of late and put a load of the planet’s almost destroyed attractions into a cool infographic.

Landmarks include the likes of the Colosseum in Rome, the London Eye, the Eiffel Tower in Paris and India’s Taj Mahal – all too beautiful to destroy, we think you’ll agree.
