The Best Five-Day Itineraries Around the World
If you’re short on time but still after an epic adventure, one of these Culture Trip adventures will fit the bill.
Five days is just the right length of time needed to escape to somewhere new and exciting – and it can be as far away from or close to home as you like. Whether it’s an exotic island retreat or a culture-soaked city break, with five days to spare, anything is possible. To prove it, here’s our pick of awesome five-day itineraries around the world.
Walk with endemic wildlife on the Galápagos Islands
It’s a long way to go for five days – but a trip to Ecuador’s wild and remote Galápagos Islands is the stuff of bucket lists. Your adventure with Culture Trip begins on Santa Cruz, as you snorkel the Itabaca Channel and search for giant tortoises in the El Chato nature reserve. You’ll then set sail for uninhabited islands, where Darwin’s finches fly in the sky and rare iguanas hide among the rocks. On San Cristóbal Island, you can snorkel with sea lions and trek through dramatic lava fields, all the while following in the footsteps of the world’s most renowned naturalist, Charles Darwin.
Blend city, mountain and desert in Morocco
The beauty of Morocco lies in the ever-shifting sands of its spectacular landscape, and the magic of Marrakech is that you can explore its three cornerstones of geographic singularity in just five days. Our trip starts in the old city itself, where you’ll wind down narrow alleyways and maze through market stalls in search for a bargain, as well as visiting a bakery that’s been going for hundreds of years. Then it’s out into the Atlas Mountain to experience Berber culture in a rural village. Hike amid orchards and past vast gorges, as well as dining traditionally with the locals, before we complete the trio with a visit to Agafay Desert. We’ll set up shop at a luxury campsite amid the vast red-rock expanse, before going on a sunset camel ride, enjoying a traditional desert dinner and spending the night stargazing around a campfire.
