1. Eurostars Andorra

All rooms at Eurostars’ five-star Andorra la Vella hotel are junior suites – some with Pyrenees views – and feature separate living spaces and bedrooms and artwork depicting the country’s most iconic landscapes. Located in the heart of the Andorran capital, next to the Pyrenees shopping centre, the hotel also offers covered parking, a buffet breakfast, a spa with sauna and a restaurant specialising in Mediterranean and Andorran cuisine. The Caldea, Europe’s largest thermal spa, is a 15-minute walk away.

2. L'Ovella Negra Mountain Lodge

Soak up Andorra’s untamed beauty at L’Ovella Negra Mountain Lodge, a cosy four-bedroom retreat in the Incles Valley, 4.5km (2.8mi) north of Soldeu. Their two-night Mountain Retreat packages include meals, yoga classes, guided hikes and get-to-know-you sessions around an open fire. Throughout July and August, Thursday evenings are dedicated to live music: book a table in the chiringuito – an outdoor hut that turns into a warming winter shack during snowy months – or find a spot in the field.

Situated 4km (2.5mi) from the Vallnord resort, the Xalet Bringue Hotel & Spa in Andorra is a well-appointed base for a skiing or hiking holiday in Andorra. Rooms, family duplexes and one suite are housed in a traditional Andorran chalet of stone and wood, most of which have balconies with mountain views. After a day outside, hit the Greco-Roman-inspired spa, where massages and treatments are performed with myrrh, mandarin and Argan oil. The Park Piolets Mountain Hotel & Spa is located in the Grandvalira resort, frequently the setting for the Alpine Skiing World Cup. Play on Grandvalira’s 200km (124 miles) of slopes or choose something from the hotel’s menu of high-octane activities, such as a mushing trip or snowmobile excursion. Piolets can also arrange mountain or e-bike rental, enabling you to hurtle down the slopes even when the snow’s gone. The gastronomic offering comprises a snug lounge bar and Chinese, buffet and à la carte restaurants.

Located in the capital of Andorra la Vella, the Hotel Plaza Andorra is ideal for a shopping or city break. The five-star hotel is both stylish and luxurious, offering everything you’d expect from an upscale city hotel. The rooms are spacious and have beautiful polished wood floors, a desk and seating area, as well as soft furnishings in silk and satin. It has a huge wooden lobby, filled with low-hanging lights and soft leather sofas, while rooms are spacious and cosy – with individual balconies and stunning mountain views. The Andorra Park Hotel sits on the edge of the capital, Andorra la Vella, surrounded by gardens and mountain views. The rooms are classic with lots of wood and white paint and furnishings, with soaring mountain views from the windows. This vast hotel offers plenty of communal spaces, as well as areas for kids with a ball pond, slide and rock climbing wall. There’s also an indoor and outdoor pool plus two restaurants – one with elegance and fine dining, and the other more casual with an al fresco terrace.

8. Grau Roig Andorra Boutique Hotel & Spa

The Grau Roig Boutique Hotel & Spa is in the village of Grau Roig, close to the Grandvalira ski area. It’s a cosy boutique hotel with a mountain-chalet theme – think soft furs, lots of wood and natural colours of cream and chocolate. The bathrooms have huge round tubs to sink into after a day on the slopes. The hotel offers two different restaurants – La Marmita, serving classic Pyrenees cuisine, and La Vaqueria, serving traditional Andorran dishes. The highlight of the hotel is the nature-inspired spa featuring a swimming pool, whirlpool, Finnish sauna and Turkish bath.

9. Hotel & Spa Diana Parc

Hotel Diana Parc is located in the Arinsal ski resort, near the huge Vallnord ski area. It’s both elegant and stylish, with bright shades of yellows and blues in its rooms and regal golds and silvers in its suites. It also offers a large wellness centre featuring all the latest treatments, such as hammams, jacuzzis, ice fountains and a caldarium – try the Cava body massage for something truly indulgent. The elegant Louis VX restaurant is also well worth a visit for its traditional Andorran cuisine.

10. Hotel Palomé

The Hotel Palomé is a sleek and trendy adventure hotel, based in the ski resort of Arinsal and giving access to the big Vallnord ski area. It has wardrobes and lockers to store hiking boots and bicycles in summer, and ski and snowboard equipment in winter. The rooms are light and simple with lots of natural wood and creamy tones. They also offer a minibar and extra sofa beds and cots for kids. The cosy lounge is a great space to relax in the evenings, while the cool Èmo bar provides a place for après ski chilling.

11. Abba Xalet Suites Hotel

The Abba Xalet Suites Hotel in Andorra is housed in two French chateaux-inspired buildings on the edge of the Vallnord ski area, with stunning views across the Anyos Valley. You can also reach the luxury boutiques and restaurants of Andorra la Vella in just 10 minutes. The rooms are both smart and cosy, with tiled floors, polished wood and simple neutral colours. The hotel also has its own candle-lit restaurant, reminiscent of an Italian trattoria, but serving up Northern Spanish, Basque and Catalan cuisine. There’s also a small spa in which to relax after hiking or spending time on the slopes.
