1. The Coral at Atlantis

Suites in this family-friendly hotel at the Atlantis resort sleep up to six and come with chic white decor, balconies and tiled flooring. There’s a teen nightclub, as well as an ice-cream parlor and, of course, access to the supreme Atlantis facilities, which include 11 pools and a huge waterpark. Riu Palace is set on a mile-long (1.6km) stretch of Cabbage Beach, which lies on Paradise Island. The sophisticated adult-only resort has five restaurants and two bars, plus a gym, sports facilities and a spa. Rooms boast high ceilings, and there’s an ultra-modern theme, with hints of Art Deco and colonial-style design. Guests spend plenty of time in the two pools, one of which lies oceanfront and has a swim-up bar.

Looking for an out-of-the-way place to stay in the Bahamas? This remote oasis lies on a tranquil bay near Gregory Town and has two pristine private beaches. Minimalist bright rooms, some with cabana-style patios, lie in a two-story white building, while each oceanfront cottage has up to three bedrooms and comes with its own butler.
