Luise Guest is a Sydney-based art teacher and writer who has been fascinated by the strength of Chinese contemporary art for some years. She interviewed more than 20 artists, curators, and art writers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong on her first trip to China in 2011, travelling on a New South Wales Premier’s research scholarship. Since then she has been particularly interested in emerging artists and the changing Chinese art scene. She is now an obsessive Sinophile attempting to learn Mandarin and making regular trips to China to meet with artists and other writers.
