“Party” is not normally a word that goes with a place like Can Tho, the very central capital of the Mekong Delta. When you think Mekong Delta, you think countryside, tranquility and coconuts – not alcohol. However, due to the popularity of Can Tho with tourists, a few bars have popped up over time. Here are the ones that have made a name for themselves.

Iris Skybar

Bar, Vietnamese, American, European

This skybar is on the rooftop of Iris Hotel, with its central location promising amazing views of Can Tho city. At night this bar is populated by the trendiest crowds of the city who come to hang out and treat themselves to a good time. The menu has a great list of beer, cocktails, spirits and wines for you to choose from and what’s great is that for a posh skybar, the prices are totally affordable.

L’Escale

Restaurant, Wine Bar, Bar, French, Vietnamese, European, American

Located on the top of the Nam Bo Hotel, this French restaurant doubles down as an upscale bar with romantic lighting and tantalising river views. It is the perfect venue for a night out to splurge on your beau. With a fantastic wine and drink menu that compliments their delicious and beautifully executed dishes, your night will be more than satisfactory. Head over here by sunset and sit at the veranda for the best views, or you can opt to dine in the wine cellar, which adds that much more romance to your night.

Tiny Corner Café

Bar, Cafe, Vietnamese, Coffee, Beer

Tiny Corner Café is mostly popular among the Can Tho young crowd looking to hang out and improve their English. The locals here will be super keen to talk to you, teach you about their culture, and offer recommendations to help make your trip in the Delta better. The café also functions as a bar, and has live acoustic music and event nights. Definitely a place you should pop by at least once if you’re in town, as it is off the typical tourist circuit and makes for a unique experience.

Located above the Holiday One Hotel, this skybar is a great place to chill on an evening after all the hard sightseeing there is to do in the Mekong. The bar offers a wide range of cocktails and spirits of international standards that are also creatively adjusted with local ingredients of the season to give you an authentic taste of the Mekong. A bonus: there’s a pool! Great for outdoor summer parties.
