In Vietnam, a booming economy has led to a flourishing middle class and younger generations with money to spend. Globalization has touched the farthest reaching corners of the country, changing landscapes and creating a love for all things western. In Ho Chi Minh City there’s something new appearing – cat friendly joints, dog dens, and reptilian hangouts. These are Ho Chi Minh City’s best pet cafés.

Located in Thao Dien, one of Saigon’s, most western neighborhoods, Pet Me is a cross between a cafe and a zoo. The outdoor space offers more than just coffee, they host live music and painting nights as well. Home to a number of large tropical birds, tortoises, reptiles and fluffy pups, Pet Me is a great place to take the kids.

Ailu Cat House Cafe

Cat and Dog Cafe, Vietnamese

A mellow joint dropped into one of Saigon’s most coffee-centric neighborhoods, Ailu has some of the most impressive felines in the city. Exotic Burmese or Persian cats are the reason to visit. The soft music and tasty coffee are the reasons to stay a while.

Babo Cafe

Cafe, Vietnamese

For those with a love of the scaly and spiny, there’s no place better than Babo Cafe. This one of a kind cafe is crawling with cold blooded critters from iguanas and lizards to snakes and frogs. While they may not be excited to have their bellies rubbed, they are interesting to observe. This is one pet cafe for the more adventurous coffee drinkers out there.
