Stirling

A reasonably-priced restaurant and bar, Stirling offers delicious Western cuisine. This establishment has a great drinks menu, with a wide range of wines, beers, and cocktails. Best of all is their craft beer, which ranges from light and refreshing, to rich and bitter. Their daring Mango with Desert Lime Cider is a silver medal winner in the Beerfest Asia.

Casa Roma

Casa Roma is more of a restaurant than a bar, but it does have a great wine menu. Located on Bukit Timah Road, this restaurant serves delicious and authentic Italian fare, which has a homemade quality to it. Its superb wines are all imported from Italy, which the staff will be happy to recommend to you based on your tastes.

Blooie’s Roadhouse

A local favourite that has a fair number of regulars, Blooie’s Roadhouse serves drinks and comfort food such as pizzas. Its bar boasts a great selection of beers and other liqueurs. It has a buzzy vibe to it, though admittedly a little too boisterous for an intimate night with a significant other, Blooie’s is a great place for hanging out with friends for a drink.

The Wine Company

An elegant place to chill and sample wine, The Wine Company does not disappoint when it comes to the variety and quality of its wine. The staff can also recommend wines to you based on your tastes. Both western and local food is also available to accompany the drinks. With an indoor dining area and a covered alfresco area, The Wine Company is the perfect place to spend an intimate night or just hang out with friends with an excellent vintage.

Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar

Shop interior

While at first glance this establishment may appear to be more of a bakery than a bar, you will soon find the opposite to be true. The bar offers an impressive selection of drinks, including cocktails, ciders, and beers. What is truly special about this friendly and atmospheric bar, however, is the Guinness Stout bread, which is infused with beer to give it a light and malty taste. Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar is truly the perfect union of a bakery and a bar.

Spruce @ Fire Station

Spruce Firestation, Singapore

Situated in the old Upper Bukit Timah Fire Station, the second Spruce branch has been modernised with metal and glass decor. Combined with the warm lighting and delicious homely American food, this gives the joint a friendly hipster ambiance. The open bar serves a variety of beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows allow you to be surrounded by the natural greenery of the Timah Bukit area.

The Great Beer Experiment

With plenty of beer bars in Singapore, The Great Beer Experiment has indeed outdone the competition as the beer-lover’s heaven. This craft brewery houses one and a half hundred different kinds of beer, including rare craft beers. It also offers workshops and a library filled with books on beer. It may sound pretentious, but the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. The staff is friendly and willing to introduce the different kinds of beer they have.
