As its Japanese name may suggest, Neko no Niwa started as a way to bring the experience of cat cafés in Japan to Singapore. Helmed by owners Sam and Sue, the couple are cat lovers who believe in the joyful and relaxing effects of cat therapy. Currently housing 13 rescue cats, the café even conducts Cat Care Workshops each quarter to pass on the knowledge of the best practices on grooming, nutrition, and supplements (among others).Cover charge: $12 for first hour, $5 per subsequent half hour, $32 whole day pass

For the uninitiated, The Cat Cafe might seem hard to find, but once you enter the spacious and bright studio, it’ll be worth any trouble. As cats are no longer allowed in Singapore’s residential flats, The Cat Cafe hopes to emulate the same homely environment for cat lovers to play and relax with their furry friends. If you are lucky, you might be just on time for the cat’s daily feeding session, when you might let out a squeal or two.Cover charge: $15 per entry (no time limit)
