As the birthplace of Muhammad, Mecca is the holiest city in Islam. Every year, millions arrive as part of the Hajj pilgrimage. Visitors flock to the Great Mosque of Mecca, known as Masjid al-Haram, which houses the sacred Kaaba. Given the city’s religious significance, non-Muslims are strictly prohibited from entering. With the sheer numbers involved, Mecca’s hotels are vast structures, capable of hosting thousands of guests. We’ve rounded up some of the best.
