Hyde at 53M

Get a delicious drink at HYDE at 53M.

Stroll the quiet streets of Bandar Utama at night and you might just find people sneaking through a side entrance into this classy watering hole. Leather Chesterfield-style sofas and soothing jazz music greet you as you walk in. The bar is well-stocked with everything from gin to absinthe. On the drinks menu, you will find classics like the Old Fashioned as well as their own creative concoctions like Peachy Peachy.

61 Monarchy

Whisky flights are the best way to enjoy the variety that they have.

Hiding among many great eateries in Bandar Utama, 61 Monarchy is a speakeasy that’s popular among whiskey drinkers. Stepping into the bar, you will be greeted by a homey setting. The main bar area, with rattan chairs and wooden furniture, is decorated like a living room. The bar only serves whiskey and whiskey-based cocktails and may have the largest whiskey collection in Petaling Jaya.

The Great Beer Bar

Assorted beers in a flight ready for tasting

Beer lovers will be in for a treat at The Great Beer Bar, located in Damansara Utama. You can explore many flavours at this bar, as it offers over 70 different types of craft beer from all over the world. If you need guidance tasting their extensive offering, reach out to any of their staff and they will happily guide you through the selection.

The Nightingale

Tucked away behind a restaurant, you can find the entrance to this intimate bar hidden behind a classic red telephone box. Despite the small space, this bar packs a punch with its offerings. From whiskey to wine, you can find the poison that best suits you. Another highlight of the bar is their cocktail list that includes concoctions with comical names like Covfefe and Pretty Reckless.

Three Stooges Bistro

A well-loved hangout spot by nearby residents, Three Stooges Bar offers great food, fantastic live music, and of course, drinks to quench your thirst. It’s lively atmosphere and friendly staff also draw quite a crowd, including local office workers who are ready to wind down after a long day. They offer a small selection of wine, whiskey, cocktails, and beer at affordable prices.

Push through the unmarked eight-foot tall door and you will find a swanky speakeasy offering an experience like no other. Unlike other bars, this watering hole has ping-pong and pool tables to get patrons moving as well as a password-protected hidden room. Keeping the bar high, Chaze takes on a playful spirit in experimentation with its cocktails. If you are looking for something more simple, they also offer a selection of wine, whiskey, and beer.

Connect with like-minded people on our premium trips curated by local insiders and with care for the world

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
