The beautiful Sarona Market opened in central Tel Aviv just two years ago. The mini-neighborhood is made up of 37 restored Templer buildings and a large gourmet food market. It’s possible to spend a whole day exploring the area and trying food from all over the world. Check out our virtual tour before you head over to the neighborhood yourself.

Outdoor area

The outdoor area of Sarona is full of life, color and energy, with plenty of lily ponds and flower gardens. There are also playgrounds and parks where kids run around and people enjoy picnics on the grass. There is even a restaurant called Picnic as part of the Little Italy section of Sarona. The restaurant supplies a blanket and basket to fill with the Italian goodies – like sandwiches, pizzas, pastas and salads – that they sell in their market. Add them to your basket and find a spot on the grass to enjoy your picnic.

As you wander through the outdoor pavilions full of shops and restaurants you might be overwhelmed by the options. If you are looking for something a little more upscale but fun and enjoyable, check out Tasting Room, a conceptual wine shop that allows you to try more than 20 different types of wines with an innovative automatic pouring system. The three pour sizes allow you to try the wine as a taste or a half glass before committing to a full glass of perfect wine. They also have an extensive food menu with delicious dishes that are great for sharing. This is a wonderful spot for a romantic date or a night out with friends.

Indoor market

Sarona‘s indoor market has everything you would want to cook with or dine on in one market. Get your favorite cooking ingredients and unique spices from stores like East And West, where you can turn your classic dishes into Asian inspired dishes. Beer Market has boutique Israeli beers, selling 100 different beers from 20 Israeli microbreweries, from the Golan Heights to the Arava.

Sarona is also known for its over-the-top, decadent dessert spots. Guli’s Desserts lets you choose a Belgium waffle or doughnut ball as your base and apply mouth-watering toppings of fruits, nuts, chocolates and sauces. If you prefer your waffle to be skewered on a vertical stick with sauce dripping down every side, this is also an option at Frost.

It is highly suggested that you take a lap around the market before deciding on which worldly culinary eats you want to devour. Every spot is unique and serves dishes full of flavor. For a taste of Asia, a must try is the free style ramen bar located in the center of the market. Another special treat that Sarona Market has to offer is Fiori Pasta, serving fresh pasta prepared daily without the use of preservatives or food coloring and only using high-quality durum flour.

Ramen Bar

If you choose to stick with Mediterranean, Segev Concept offers a unique twist on the classic Israeli shawarma. Whether you chose Israeli, American, Indian, Thai, Mexican or Italian style, your shawarma will be uniquely flavored and placed in a delicious sandwich roll. The favorite hummus spot in all of Israel, Abu Hassan, has recently opened up another branch in Sarona Market, bringing the beloved hummus bowls to the heart of Tel Aviv.

Sarona Market is a place where you can get your weekly groceries, enjoy a three-course gourmet meal, grab a sweet treat, and enjoy a glass of wine with a plate of cheese or prime sausages, all under one roof. There’s so much to try, after you go once, you will be back for more.
