Top 5 Spots to Enjoy Tel Aviv’s Spring Weather

If you are looking for a relaxing morning to enjoy a good book, fresh cup of coffee and your daily dose of sunshine, be sure to check out Kikar Rabin. Located in the center of Tel Aviv, this city square is sometimes used for political rallies, city-wide ceremonies/events and other random events. However, in its every day usage, residents take advantage of the spacious grassy area, lawn chairs, two fountains and an ecological pond.

Park HaYarkon sits atop northern Tel Aviv and is truly breathtaking. It’s perfect for family time – you’ll often see children running around and parents barbecuing. The park is a great place to go for an afternoon bike ride or a leisurely stroll, but there is also seemingly endless space to plop down and have a picnic. The green trees and rushing water of the Yarkon River cutting through the park makes it more relaxing and picturesque. If you’re in a more active mood, you can check out Park Hayarkon’s rock climbing, rent a paddleboat, play a game of baseball or even join in on some Israeli dancing.

Situated right on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Tel Aviv boasts gorgeous beaches. Since the weather in Israel is so mild, the beach is an option for about eight months of the year. The clear blue water, the hot sun and the beautiful people all make a day at the beach a good one. Take a walk along the promenade to see some lovely views or enjoy an ice coffee at a nearby café. While at the beach, be sure to keep a look out for flying matkot balls. A combination of ping-pong and tennis, the Israeli game of matkot is always entertaining to watch.

Rothschild Boulevard is one of the quintessential streets in Tel Aviv. Beginning near the city’s theater of HaBima, Rothschild extends all the way down to southern Tel Aviv. Full of tiny cafés, upscale yet casual restaurants, and benches strategically placed through the boulevard, this a great place to sit and people watch. The landscaping of the street provides much needed shade in the summer and makes for a great place to soak in the city’s vibes.

The Carmel Market is a truly unique experience. Always bustling, you can find everything from spices and vegetables to children’s toys and clothes here. With hundreds of little stalls placed next to each other, each merchant shouts his deals as you walk past. Filled with cheese shops, smoothie bars and fresh vegetable stalls, you never know exactly what you might find.
