In Tel Aviv, where the weather is sunny most days of the year, the options for fun, athletic outdoor activities abound. Truly, the city boasts many gyms, but Tel Aviv also offers a number of alternative ways to get a good workout while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

Park

HaYarkon is one of the biggest parks in Tel Aviv and one of the prettiest. It offers running trails, biking trails, and a river for kayaking. There’s also a rock climbing wall located in the park, where you can rent all the equipment you need to climb. It’s beginner-friendly and makes for a really fun workout. Kitesurfing has taken over Tel Aviv in recent years. It’s a great way to get in shape while also enjoying the beautiful Mediterranean. If you have some kitesurfing experience, there are a few places to rent equipment, such as Surf Point at Tel Aviv’s Dolphinarium beach. If lessons are in order there are some places that offer classes with trained professionals, such as SportX, also at Dolphinarium beach.

Israel is dedicated to keeping its citizens healthy. As a result, there are free outdoor workout parks located all over Israel. Workout parks are mini gyms with machines that use body weight as resistance. Did we mention they’re also free to use? There are a number of these workout parks throughout Tel Aviv. Some locations include the beach, Meir Garden, and HaYarkon Park. Grab a water bottle and take a jog to one of these workout parks to get your weight training in.

Jogging through the Jaffa and Tel Aviv Ports

The ports that grace Tel Aviv are some of the most beautiful places in the city, offering picturesque scenes of colorful boats and dedicated fishermen. Why not enjoy a run from the Jaffa port to the Tel Aviv port? It is a great workout that includes both running on the beach and on finished paths and ends in the Tel Aviv port where options abound for a great post-workout meal.
