The Best Bakeries In Tel Aviv

Culture Trip

Within the notable and increasingly accomplished culinary setting of Tel Aviv, the bakery scene holds its own, even when compared to its European neighbors who are often considered to be the pastry experts of the world. From the traditional Israeli bourekas to croissants, biscuits and cakes. Here are the top spots for finding baked treats.

Dallal Bakery

Tucked away in the Susanne Dallal quarter, in the quaint and chic neighborhood of Neve Tsedek, sits the appropriately named Dallal Bakery. The establishment is known for both its magical tea-party interior as well as its dreamy treats. Although the goods may be slightly pricier than your local pastry shop, none of the pastries disappoint. In addition, the highly recommended and more upscale adjacent Dallal restaurant allows diners to sit for something savoury.

1. Bourekas Mis

Bakery, Pastry Shop, Israeli

Bourekas Mis, located in the heart of the hip Florentin neighborhood in the southern part of Tel Aviv, would most likely not catch a passerby’s eye, but it is definitely worth a visit. A no-frills establishment, the bakery offers good food for a great price. They have a wide variety of bourekas, cakes and even a hot and fresh hard-boiled egg to accompany your salty snack. The kitchen in back is constantly refilling the diminishing batches, so you can be sure your choices will be fresh.

2. Boutique Central

Boutique Central is not the place to head if you are on a budget, but it is one of the best bakeries in Tel Aviv. The bakery has seven locations in Tel Aviv, one in Ramat Aviv and one in Jerusalem. They have an expansive menu and it rarely disappoints. In addition to your usual croissants and filo pastries, Boutique Central also serves up a large selection of boxed treats that are unique, well made and absolutely delicious.

The Bakery

The Bakery is part of the R2M family, which is home to some of the top restaurants in Tel Aviv (Brasserie, Coffee Bar, Hotel Montefiore and Delicatessen, just to name a few). Similar to Dallal, the Bakery is situated under the same roof as the highly acclaimed restaurant, Brasserie. From simple cakes and pastries, to more elaborate tarts, truffles, cakes and more, the Bakery is among the finer and well-respected bakeries in the city.
