Beaches
Herzliya has some of the most beautiful beaches in Israel; with white sand, a seafront promenade, and beautiful boats sailing on the sea. Surfing and Water Sports
Unlike Tel Aviv, Herzliya does not have any wave breakers protecting the beach from hefty and aggressive waves, which makes Herzliya beaches a dream for every surfer. The Reef Surfing and Diving Center is the best place to learn surfing and diving. The place is fully equipped and advanced surfers can find everything they need. Gazebo is a restaurant/bar but also a water sports club where people can enjoy surf boards, catamarans, paddle boards or kayaks, renting or taking lessons.
Apollonia Beach
This wonderful beach is bordered by a cliff, on top of which is the Apollonia National Park. Visitors can discover the archeological remains of a crusader city and the impressive fortress which was built around 1250. The climb to the balcony of the fortress allows visitors to discover the beautiful panorama of the Herzliya coast. A must-see is the house made of shells, built by a hermit living on the beach for more than 40 years – the house is built directly inside the cliff.
