10 Spring Style Looks As Seen In Tel Aviv
What better time of year for a stroll in Tel Aviv than springtime? As the temperature hikes up, so does the hemline of Tel Aviv’s fashionable residents. Folding away winter essentials and pulling summer gear out of storage is a favorite ritual for many people – and Israelis are no exception. Our resident fashion photographer Asaf from Tel Aviv Street Vibe is always on call discovering the latest clothing trends in the city.
Classic Neutrals
From camel to beige, light neutrals are a spring staple in Tel Aviv – especially when paired with a crisp white blouse or jacket. Keep your look clean by riding a bike above the grime. Why not take a detour through Sheinkin Street for a little window shopping?
Spring Florals
For the bold dresser who’s not afraid to make a statement, flower prints are fun to wear for both men and women. Pair with neutral basics for a polished look, or (mis)match with stripes or other patterns for a more funky style.
The Versatile Jacket
Light jackets and thin fabrics go together as beautifully as Goldstar and the beach! A casual jacket is your best bet for dealing with the typically mercurial spring weather, especially during cooler nights.
Black and White
Some things are simply black and white! There are no shades of gray in this trend (50 or otherwise). A sharp look for the Tel Aviv sophisticate, this combo looks amazing with statement pieces, like a long necklace or chunky gold bracelet. Bonus: don a floppy black fabric hat and channel your inner Audrey Hepburn while shielding your skin from the sun.
Daytime Tricot
Typically ‘clubby’ stretch fabrics such as tricot are also perfect for daytime, allowing for flexibility, comfort and form-fitting sexiness – especially in skirts. Experiment with an attention-grabbing print, or stick with solid colors.
Stylish Shades
Keep the sun out of your eyes and complete your outfit with a pair of sunglasses – a must in this walking and biking city. Pick up a cute and cheap pair for 35 shekels at the Carmel Market, or head over to Dizengoff Center or a boutique if you want to make a slightly bigger investment.
Denim
Jeans were once considered an American import in Israel and were rarely spotted in the streets of Tel Aviv. Anyone caught wearing denim was immediately assumed to be a tourist on vacation. However, in today’s cosmopolitan White City, jeans have become as ubiquitous as falafel and are easy to dress up or down.
Bold Socks
Bright, bold socks aren’t just for winter anymore. Show them off with low-top sneakers or dress shoes and jeans until the scorching summer sun comes out.
