Managed by the reputable Alila Hotels and Resorts, this place is arguably the most iconic among their other excellent accommodations. Perched on the banks of the sacred Ayung River and designed to resemble a Balinese village, guests can experience what it’s like to live like locals, only with a luxurious touch. Located 20km from Ubud, Padma Resort is an absolute gem. Insta-worthy pictures all around here: it’s the largest infinity pool in Bali, overlooking the magical bamboo forest of Payangan. The water of the pool is regulated according to the weather: cool during the day, providing the much needed refreshing bliss, and heated when the temperature drops. Perfect for early morning and evening swims. Also, they have a pretty cool bar, the Sunken Pool: do try the tropical fruit smoothies and signature cocktails.

Located off the back of Jalan Monkey Forest, right behind No Màs Bar, it’s an oasis of relaxation, with bean bags and comfy beds on the grass, or right on the edge of the large swimming pool. There’s also a restaurant where they serve mouthwatering local food, with a cheap price and good quality.
