Just a one-hour flight from Jakarta will bring you to this unspoiled island paradise near Sumatra. Sandy beaches and resort luxury awaits at these top hotels in Belitung.

An Indonesian island east of Sumatra, Belitung is home to some of the great archipelago’s most idyllic beaches – think pure white sand, cerulean seas and granite rock formations. More than 100 smaller islands are dotted about Belitung, including Lengkuas Island with its 19th-century lighthouse, built during the Dutch colonial era. The island is also home to some marvellous places to stay. We’ve handpicked the best of the bunch for you.
