Whether you are looking for a relaxing afternoon in the midst of nature, a scenic jogging track or a picnic spot, the green spaces in the sunshine state of India have something for you. Here’s our pick of some of the best parks and green spaces in Goa.

1. Jogger’s Park Chicalim

Park

Spanning 33,000 square meters of area, the Jogger’s Park in Chicalim is where you will find the locals jogging or walking their furry companions. It features a 560-meter long track, which is ideal for a jog or walk, and includes plenty of trees and flora. It also offers a pedestrian plaza, a kid’s play area and a seating zone shaded by trees. It’s especially quiet and peaceful in the mornings. During the weekends, the place is filled with people relaxing, connecting with nature, soaking up the sunbeams and having a picnic lunch. It is open every day, from 5am until 9pm.

2. Bicholim Walking Park

Park

With wide pathways, ample green spaces, lush trees on both sides and calm atmosphere, the Bicholim Walking Park has the right ingredients for a peaceful and quiet time away from the hubbub of city life. You can stroll, run, sunbathe or have some ‘me-time’ – all while being at one with nature. An added bonus: vehicles are not allowed here, which means the environment is clean and green. It is open 24 hours!

3. Campal Gardens

Arguably one of the most popular green spaces in Goa is the Campal Gardens, which is a peaceful and scenic garden right alongside the Mandovi River in the Campal region of Panjim. It consists of dense trees, bright coloured flowers, well-manicured lawns and plenty of fun activities for people of all ages, especially kids. Paddleboat rides on the river are also on offer for those who want a bit of action, while those who simply want to relax and enjoy a picnic can make their way over to the flower garden. It also boasts a massive statue of Bhagwan Mahavir (the 24th and last Tirthankaras of Jain religion) in the form of lotus.
