Surrounded by historical and cultural landmarks, and brimming with upmarket boutiques, lively bars and urban restaurants, Khan Market is one of the coolest neighbourhoods in Delhi. One of the best features of this neighbourhood is its cafes. Whether you are looking for a relaxing cup of coffee or are hankering for a sumptuous meal, the cafes here have it all. Here’s our pick of the best.

SodaBottleOpenerWala

Cafe, Indian

Situated in the heart of the lively Khan Market, the SodaBottleOpenerWala is a well-established Bombay Irani café-restaurant, complete with an outdoor balcony and a bar that is known to fill up with patrons every day of the week. The main feature of the café is its menu replete with Parsi specialities. Their Mutton Berry Pulao, Dhanshak and Jardaloo Ma Tarkari (Parsi-style vegetable curry) are particularly worthy of attention. Paired with stick chai and old-world grace, this café is much more than a culinary experience – and certainly one not to be missed.

Cafe Turtle

Cafe, Restaurant, Vegetarian, Indian, Greek, Italian

If you are up for some delicious light bites, a good book and a perfect space to do some reading, look no further than Café Turtle. It’s linked to the Full Circle Bookstore, meaning there’s a huge collection of books to choose from. As for food, it’s entirely vegetarian, with Greek, Italian and Lebanese influences, and made from farm-fresh ingredients. You can wash it all down with fresh juices. Do save a little room for homemade cakes, such as Lemon Cheese Cake and Gooey Chocolate Cake.

The Blue Door Cafe

The Blue Door Cafe is a local favourite for breakfast any time of the day. Their coffee, such as Double Shot Espresso and Café Latte is one of the best in the Khan Market, while their selection of sandwiches, salads, pasta, waffles and pancakes are equally on point. Although its inside is absolutely delightful, the outdoor patio is just as charming – and is a prime spot for people-watching, as well.
