For culture enthusiasts: Tbilisi

Similar to the country itself, Tbilisi is also a diverse city where you can find cultural and historical sights everywhere. The old and new perfectly blend with each other. Stroll in the historic old town, take a bath in sulfur baths, visit museums, indulge in local cuisine or admire beautiful architecture.

For hiking lovers: Svaneti and Tusheti

Georgia is like ‘a heaven on earth’ for hiking lovers. There are so many possibilities that its hard to choose. Whether you are a beginner or a professional, you’ll find something that suits your needs. However, best hiking trails with picturesque views are in Svaneti and Tusheti regions. They are the most remote areas of the country, surrounded by panoramic views of the mountains and medieval defense towers.

For beach lovers: Batumi

Georgia is bordered by the Black Sea on the west, therefore, there are plenty of seaside resorts in the country. However, Batumi is the most popular destination both for locals and country visitors. The reason for this is that it’s the most developed city of the Black Sea coast, boasting a variety of activities.

For romantics: Sighnaghi

Sighnaghi is considered to the ‘city of love’. The phrase was coined by the ex-president Saakashvili, although no one is certain why he came up with it. The logical explanation, however, is that the Civil Service office operates 24 hours if anyone wants to get married on the spot.

The city offers beautiful views of the Caucasus Mountains and Alazani valley, while the narrow cobblestone streets adorned with colorful houses make the city quite romantic.

For foodies: Zugdidi

Local cuisine is known for its wide range of dishes featuring meat, dough, cheese and vegetables. Even though there are many different meals you can try in various parts of the country, Samegrelo region has one of the most distinguished cuisines of them all. Therefore, foodies will love exploring a bit of spicy food enriched with various herbs. Must-try meals here are cornmeal dishes called elarji and ghomi, gebjhalia, kharcho or kupati.

For snow lovers: Gudauri and Mestia

Ski and snowboard lovers will enjoy there time in Gudauri and Mestia. Gudauri is closer to Tbilisi, therefore, during the ski season, it’s packed with visitors and locals alike. Mestia, in the Svaneti region, boasts trails with the highest points in the country for more adventurous skiers. Moreover, you can add a few cultural sights to your ski trip to Mestia; there is plenty to explore.

For wine lovers: Kakheti region

Georgia is the birthplace of wine. The traditional method that Georgia follows uses clay jars called qvevri, which is buried underground. With this method, the typical white wine gets an amber color. The most well-known region of wine-making is Kakheti. There are many chateaus and wine companies that offer day trips, wine tastings and accommodation.
