Have fun at Huntsville’s very first dog park. Puppies and owners of all walks of life can congregate here to form a sense of community and establish relationships that can last for many dog years – humans will enjoy it too! This is a lovely affordable replacement for dog hotels and often features many dogs running around, enjoying the fresh air and greenery of this spot.

Despite being located in Downtown Huntsville, Big Spring Park is very peaceful, a go-to place to relax and unwind after a day’s work. In the park is a Japanese bridge that was donated by a general named Mikio Kimata from the Japanese army. This is one of the many donations and gifts this park has received from nations all over the world, including Norway and the United Kingdom.

Brahan Springs Park

Park

Brahan Springs Park is a safe clean place for children to have fun and strike up friendships. With its gated play area, this is a great place to have planned play dates and parent-to-child bonding experiences. It is across the highway from Parkway Place Mall, so also acts as a relaxing destination to unwind in before or after a busy day of shopping.

Opening hours: Mon-Fri 7.30am-9pm, Sat 9am-1pm, Sun 1pm-5pm

Madison County Nature Trail

On Green Mountain, Madison County Nature Trail is one-and-a-half-mile of untouched green lands and a trail that is ideal for new hikers. It is well-equipped with rest areas, a pavilion, and a picnic area to turn the hike into a full day out in the sun. The length of the trail may be too long for children, so there are two paths with each leading to different attractions that can be a place to rest, or diverge your attentions elsewhere for a while. An easy hike for adults, this could unravel into a longer excursion with children.

Aldridge Creek Greenway

Park

This trail at Aldridge Creek Greenway is over five miles long and even goes along the Tennessee River for a short while. It also goes along four schools and can make for a safe way for kids to exercise among a group of friends. The trail is perfect for photographing, painting, and walking for inspiration. In the autumn, the leaves fall and cover the trail with only a little of the road peeking through. The flowers have dew on them that accents the vibrancy petals and the park. Experience all that this trail offers, be it for photography or exercise, because it is sure to not disappoint.
