Buenos Aires is fully in the throes of a yoga revolution. As yoga practice takes over the world, more and more types of yoga and more gurus and studios are popping up all over the place, but which one is right for you? We have compiled a list of the best yoga studios in Buenos Aires.

1. Valle Tierra

Yoga Studio

Valle Tierra is the definitive Palermo yoga studio. Located in the heart of Palermo Soho on Plaza Armenia, Valle Tierra is one of the nicest studios in Buenos Aires, but the price tag of the classes reflects the setting. Spread over three floors, Valle Tierra offers classes in hatha, ashtanga, and kundalini yoga, as well as dance flow classes and yoga teacher training courses. This studio has a loyal client base, who keep coming back for the minimal, relaxing, zen environment and the top-notch classes led by well-known instructors. Check the website for class schedules and yoga retreats.

2. Yoga Flow Palermo

Yoga Studio

Yoga Flow Palermo is located smack bang in the middle of Palermo Soho and is another school that offers classes in English. Teachers have been certified in the US and Europe and the classes offered are based around a flow practice. Therapeutic and restorative slow-flow classes are also offered, and in addition, Yoga Flow focuses on yoga for corporate clients who wish to ease the stress of their employees and to restore progressive mindfulness to commercial environments.

3. Urban Lotus Yoga and Pilates

This yoga and pilates studio is located in Palermo Hollywood, and occupies a beautiful old corner building that is full of light and period features. With a focus on the integration of wellness into their pilates and yoga classes, Urban Lotus offers clients a wide variety of yoga classes, including hatha, ashtanga, and Iyengar, as well as pilates classes that are run using a reformer bed. They also offer a range of different massage styles and therapies, including ayurvedic treatments, reiki and reflexology.

4. Yoga Sivananda

Yoga Studio

This yoga studio in Recoleta is suitable for yogis of all levels and runs sivananda classes that teach traditional Eastern and Indian yoga practices. The style of yoga offered here focuses much more on breathing techniques and long poses, as opposed to flow yoga’s more aerobic style. All classes are an hour and a half long, with lots of relaxation built in. Yoga Sivananda also runs teacher training courses in this style of yoga, and organizes yoga retreats.

5. Centro de Ashtanga Yoga Carlos Frione

Yoga Studio

This Almagro studio is located in an old house that functions as a cultural centre, and you can also attend flamenco classes and other activities there, if yoga isn’t your thing. The ashtanga yoga class run four times weekly by the Carlos Frione school takes place in a large room on the ground floor, and the 90-minute classes are largely self-guided, although a teacher is on hand to guide new students through the practice and help experience yogis adjust their poses as required. Drop-ins are accepted, but let them know on Facebook beforehand.

6. Ananda Yoga

This studio in Colegiales has a pretty full roster of classes, owing to its serious teaching practice and popularity among local residents. Hatha is the main yoga practiced in Ananda and classes are divided into gentle, medium, and intense. There are also ashtanga classes, but these are only offered to advanced students and yoga teachers. Ananda also offers extensive teaching training courses, as well as individual hatha classes, yoga therapy, and massage therapy. Check their website for more info and the class schedule.

7. Buena Onda Yoga

Yoga Studio

Buena Onda Yoga is the go-to yoga school for expats and English speakers. The success of the venture has been such that Buena Onda now has two locations across the city, one in Palermo Soho and one in San Telmo. Their vinyasa flow classes are very popular, and Buena Onda also runs classes in yin yoga. All of the classes are led by experienced teachers. There is one weekly class taught in Spanish, but English is really the order of the day. Buena Onda also runs yoga retreats in the countryside.
