These days the passion for vintage and bargain basement, second-hand items seems never-ending, and despite being a small island, Ibiza has a bountiful selection of retro goodies on offer. So, if your holiday isn’t complete without a shopping fix, here’s the run-down of the best flea markets and thrift stores on the White Isle.

Sant Jordi Flea Market

Market

The Sant Jordi Flea Market takes place every Saturday morning from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. and is essentially a large car boot sale, selling everything from second hand clothes, jewelry, and toys, to books, bric-a-brac, and furniture, as well as new items such as crafts and handmade rugs. Inevitably there is a lot of random junk for sale, but it’s worth sifting through the endless piles and rails, as there are always bargains to be found. The layout is fairly chaotic, but if you get there early you’ll have plenty of time to get in the swing of it before the experienced treasure hunters snaffle the best bargains.

Vintage Icons & Echoes

In a quiet street off Santa Eulalia’s main drag is Vintage Icons & Echoes, an excellent vintage store selling second hand designer clothing, flamboyant gowns, wigs, and other accessories, as well as all kinds of retro knickknacks. The owner previously had a vintage store in the UK until she upped sticks, brought the contents of her business to Ibiza and started again. There is something wonderfully jumbled about this shop, which is crammed full of colorful clothes and objects—it’s a fun shop to look around, a great place to source costumes or unusual items, and the prices are very reasonable. http://instagram.com/p/BXD3cUnA9qC/?taken-at=1017884654

Vicente Ganesha

Market

Despite looking like a slightly shabby, hippie, market-style shop from the outside, Vicente Ganesha is the place to go to buy vintage clothes, jewelry, and sunglasses. Passing by the colorful kaftans and scarfs out front, the shop inside is a vintage-lovers paradise (with a heavy emphasis on ’60s and ’70s gear). Packed with goodies, and popular with the likes of Kate Moss and Jade Jagger, this shop has been around for a long time, and the owner, Vicente Hernandez, is a bit of a legend in Ibiza. He travels the world scouring markets for items to sell in his store, and also stocks his own designs which he has made in India. A veritable Aladdin’s cave of colorful fabrics, you’re missing a trick if you’re a fan of thrift stores and you don’t pop into Vicente Ganesha for a rummage. http://instagram.com/p/BXyoJDLAGg5/?taken-by=vicenteganesha

Dacha Workshop

Located in the heart of Ibiza Town, Dacha Workshop is the height of urban cool—a record store with a difference, selling new and used vinyl, as well as a decent selection of vintage clothes, hand-picked from around the world. This is the perfect place to pick up some excellent quality vintage threads and/or vinyl, while listening to great music played on the in-store decks. http://instagram.com/p/BRBVLrQlvcm/?taken-at=741848426

Flamingos Vintage Kilo

This successful vintage clothes store is part of a chain, with stores all over Spain, shipping vintage clothes and accessories from the USA, and selling them cheaply by the kilo. Flamingos Vintage Kilo has rail upon rail of retro American clothing, like Levis, lumberjack shirts, baseball jackets, cowboy boots, Converse, Hawaiian shirts, and much more. If you’re into vintage Americana, this is the place to shop—you can pile your basket high and pay by weight. http://instagram.com/p/BDEAYTAuzBz/?tagged=flamingovintagekiloibiza

Las Dalias Market

Market

Not a flea market as such, but more of an Ibiza-style, hippie market selling artisan goods, crafts, food, and clothes. Although not specifically selling used goods, there is still some decent vintage treasure to be found here, particularly in the form of upcycled fabrics and leatherware, 1970s clothing, second hand books, and retro knickknacks.

Holala Ibiza

The Ibizan branch of this chain of vintage stores opened in the late 1970s, and these days also has various outlets in Barcelona, which also sell furniture, books, and art. When it comes to vintage clothing and recycling textiles, Holala know what they’re doing and have a very loyal fan base, including many celebrity clients. The clothes are high quality, sourced from all over the world, and the store often lends clothes for magazine shoots and television productions. http://instagram.com/p/BWdRZArDoc6/?taken-by=holalaibiza
