Argentina’s second city, Cordoba is gaining a reputation for its big city vibe in a small city package. With this comes a plethora of delicious food and drink options, and nowhere is this more visible than in Cordoba’s café culture. Argentines are known for their love of socializing and chatting, and this doesn’t always have to involve alcohol. We check out the best cafés in Cordoba.

1. Bruncheria

A staple on any Cordobese food list, Bruncheria hits the spot when it comes to breakfast, brunch, lunch, and quaint café times. With a charming interior and delectable menu that will leave you full for hours afterwards, Bruncheria’s friendly environment is perfect for meeting friends for an afternoon coffee, or killing that hangover with one of their signature sharing brunch plates.

2. Caseratto

Cafe, Ice Cream Parlour, Ice Cream

Argentines are notorious for liking coffee with their ice cream, so there are a wealth of coffee shops-cum-ice cream parlors all over the country, and Caseratto is one of Cordoba’s best. With a breakfast and lunch menu serving up everything you would expect, if you’re screaming for ice cream, go for the famous dulce de leche granizado to experience the real taste of Argentina.

3. Il Caffetino Espresso

Cafe, Argentina

Founded by two youngsters of 21 and 24 years old, Il Caffetino Espresso rejuvenated Cordoba’s coffee scene some years ago and could now claim to be its coffee kings. One of the first places in Cordoba to do takeaway coffee, they are known for their frappuccinos—great while pounding the pavement on a hot day.

4. Maria Antonieta Cupcakes

This cute little cupcake joint has expanded its food range to include breakfast, brunch, lunch, and even traditional Argentine dishes such as locro. Of course, their signature cupcakes, pastries and cakes still steal the show, and they often do special food events with offerings such as chocolate fondue, and they can even be hired for personal catering.

5. Alquiles Café

Cafe, Bar, Pub Grub, Argentina

This hipster café is perfect for digital nomads and also doubles as something of a cultural center, offering a diverse array of events such as lettering workshops and evenings of live music. A minimal design is complemented by on point branding and, of course, great coffee. Grab a smoothie or an iced coffee and pretend you’re in New York.

6. Medialunas Calientitas

Cafe, Argentina

This Uruguayan café chain does the best medialunas in the Southern Cone, hands down. Baked freshly throughout the day, these little half moons of joy are smothered in a gooey sugar syrup and are small enough to eat a mountain of, so watch out. Check out their sandwiches and gourmet medialunas for a real treat. So popular are they in Cordoba that they have a whopping eight branches.

7. La Capkeria

Cafe, Coffee Shop, Argentina, Pub Grub

La Capkeria is a quaint little café that is seriously Insta-friendly. Homemade cupcakes, brownies, macaroons and a plethora of delicious treats grace the countertop and tables in this cute coffee shop. They even have a food truck that makes the rounds at local fairs and festivals.
