Usaquén is one of Bogotá’s most favored neighborhoods. Spanish Colonial buildings line cobblestone streets that meander around to a central plaza. Festivals, an independent theater and plenty of shopping, make Usaquén a popular spot for a Sunday gathering. Abasto offers homemade breads, tasty salads and deliciously prepared seafood. The restaurant has cornered the market on wholesome, comfort food. Abasto occupies a former grain warehouse on a corner in the charming Usaquén neighborhood. In addition to its satisfying menu, Abasto also has a bodega market in a back room, where shelves are crammed with delicacies like Chilean wines and sea salt from the Guajira peninsula, The daily specials prepared by chef Luz Beatriz Vélez’s are displayed daily on a chalkboard.

Casa Vieja

Casa Vieja is a traditional Colombian restaurant that has been operating for over 45 years, with a menu featuring original recipes of typical Colombian fare. Order ajiaco chicken with potatos, capers, avocado, cream, corn and guascas; sobrebarriga accompanied by fried plantains, potatoes and guacamole, or the popular fried fish with rice with coconut, fried plantain and salad.

Bogota Beer Company

Bogotá Beer Company is a popular Colombian chain with branches in 12 neighborhoods in Bogotá. BBC micro-brews are made from imported malted barley and hops that get mixed with Bogotá’s purified water. The beer is paired with menu items like specialty hamburgers, hotdogs, onion rings and potato wedges. BBC is a favorite hangout for sports fans, touting large screen plasma TVs and sports photography. During soccer games, the restaurant turns into a roaring sea of yellow, gold and blue.

La Mar Cebicheria

Created by Gastón Acurio, La Mar Cebicheria has been widely received in Usaquén. La Mar Cebicheria seats up to 380 patrons and people still line up out the door to get a table. The interior is dimly lit and consists of high ceilings, a brickwork interior and huge windows looking out to the street. Try the , arroz con mariscos and seared salmon.

Sillas

80 Sillasspecializes in seafood, with simple but well prepared dishes served in an uncomplicated and friendly manner. With a beautiful indoor and outdoor patio, 80 Sillas offers organic, contemporary décor. The menu is as simple and very tempting. Try the ceviches fillets, and steaks.

Cafe Amarti

Café Amarti is a restaurant that offers both fine-dining and a casual daily routine, it can be a place to get a drink on the terrace, or to celebrate an anniversary. The extensive menu is all in Italian, which includes 31 antipasti, 13 carpaccio, 14 different salads, seven soups, over 30 pastas and guest can create their own pizzas. The brunch menu is also hugely popular.

Inkas

14 Inkas is an original and fresh concept, Bogota’s take on Peruvian cuisine. The menu offers new and old Peruvian recipes. 14 Inkas is an excellent place for piqueos, causes, rices, tiraditos, pastas, fish, seafood and skipped. The second floor is beautifully lit and tasteful in decoration, with minimalist design by the renowned architect, Giancarlo Mazzanti.

La Plaza de Andres

This plaza is located in the heart of Usaquén neighborhood and offers a pop-up Andres Carne de Res restaurant, near the church of Santa Barbara. Andres Carne de Res is one of the most popular restaurants in Bogotá, offering a festive atmosphere and excellent traditional Colombian food. Order the lomo saltado, patacones and arepas.

Uy Tuytuy

Nightclub, Wine, Beer, Cocktails

Uy Tutuy is a popular expression in Colombia, not easily translatable. A bright red exterior and large lettering on the restaurant wall, make it easily recognizable form the street. The most popular dish is pig bone. The bone is cooked for eight hours, with nine different chillies, in the oven. After dinner, the atmosphere changes to a rumba, spicing things up for the evening ahead.

Mark and Jorge Rausch, brothers from France, chose a traditional place in Usaquen to share their concept of a bistro. Bistronomy has space for 110 people and offers a tasty menu of meatballs and sausage wrapped in bacon, dates, fish and chips with salsa tartar, and cassoulet, a French stew with white beans, duck confit, Toulouse sausage, pork arm and leg of lamb.
