Camden isn’t just street food. Here are the best Camden restaurants for a sit-down meal, with cuisines from all four corners of the world.

CUPP

One of the tasty offerings from CUPP

Bubble tea popularity in London isn’t showing any signs of stopping. CUPP, a fantastic option based in Camden, has launched its first ever hot food offering, alongside its wide range of boba teas. The new menu pays homage to CUPP’s Taiwanese roots with a selection of delectable Asian-inspired dishes. A must-order is the Taiwanese Style Chicken – juicy, crispy chicken bites marinated in a blend of traditional Taiwanese seasonings, including plum salt – delicious!

Hook

A selection of Hook’s new-school fish and chips in Japanese panko breadcrumbs and tempura batter sit on a table

Hook offers a modern twist on an English classic with a menu full of creative variations of fish and chips, including crispy sea bass with pancakes, seaweed-salted chips and Southern-style fried sardines. With humble beginnings as a Dublin market stall, it wasn’t long before the popularity of new-school fish and chips caught on and Hook evolved into the busy restaurant it is today. Diners share long, communal tables in a stripped back space – it’s the food that takes centre stage here.

La Patagonia

La Patagonia brings Argentinian flavour to Camden with a barrio-style restaurant and an exceptionally meaty menu (perhaps not a great choice for vegetarians). There’s an impressive selection of steaks on offer, from sirloin to short rib, accompanied by a long list of Argentinian wines. The restaurant also hosts regular tango music nights.

The Blues Kitchen

One of three branches across London, The Blues Kitchen in Camden is the place to go for classic American soul food and boasts London’s largest whiskey collection to boot. There’s also live music seven nights a week. Blues and buffalo wings: name a better duo.

Andy’s Greek Taverna

This much-loved Greek restaurant has been a Camden Town institution since 1967, and although threatened with closure, owner Petros Ochtaras has managed to keep customers coming back for homely, authentic Greek cuisine.

Ma Petite Jamaica

The peppered shrimp is just one of the treats on offer at Ma Petite Jamaica

Ma Petite Jamaica is the go-to place for rum cocktails, jerk chicken and a reggae soundtrack. If you’re after a tropical fix, London’s first Caribbean diner won’t disappoint; just keep in mind that portions (including the small plates) are big. Go hungry, leave satisfied.

Namaasté Kitchen

As it offers a mouth-watering selection of contemporary Indian dishes, including oxtail rogan josh, pistachio chicken korma and tandoori portobello mushroom, it’s no wonder this snazzy Indian restaurant has won so many awards. It’s an ideal choice if you’re tired of chicken tikka and want to spice things up a bit.

Purezza

Here’s one for the vegans: Purezza serves 100 percent plant-based pizza. Their large pies are topped with rice-based mozzarella, and other ingredients on offer include wood-smoked tofu, kalamata olives and smoked beetroot carpaccio.
