Hot spots like Ibiza Town and Santa Eulàlia offer everything from gourmet dining to rustic, traditional fare all served in stunning locations. Here’s our list of the best restaurants to explore.

The Giri Café

Restaurant, Mediterranean, Fusion

The Giri Cafe is a restaurant with a conscience—with the simple philosophy of eating locally, seasonally and cooking in a sustainable way, the cafe celebrates the beauty of nature and invites its diners to do the same. You can even sit out in their very own garden and see their organic ingredients growing before they make their way to the plate. The salmon and zucchini brioche with wild rice and teriyaki is just one example of the bold, creative flavors available on the menu which, wherever possible, incorporates superfoods and the local tastes of Ibiza. For a quirky yet luxurious dining experience, The Giri Cafe provides something that little bit different.

Mar a Vila

Bar, Restaurant, Tapas, Spanish

For tapas with a twist, visit Mar a Vila and embrace the tradition of tapas-style dining whilst exploring expertly selected tastes and flavors. Creativity runs right through the restaurant, from the chic decor to the presentation of food. Dishes such as the seared tuna with coffee cream and the chocolate dessert with red wine compote come with superb reviews and the cava sangría is definitely something not to be missed. Mar a Vila is certainly not your average tapas bar and offers a culinary haven away from the busy streets of Ignasi Walls.

Opening its doors in 2011, Sa Carboneria specializes in grilled meats—in particular the “dry-aged steak”, which is matured for 45 days before being served—as well as serving a Mediterranean menu filled with fish, organic vegetables and carpaccio. The restaurant, which is open only in the summer, has a particularly romantic feel, offering an intimate courtyard setting complete with lemon tree and low lighting. For those who know exactly how they like their meat, the restaurant even offers a hot stone service where you can cook it to perfection yourself. Try the chocolate coulant with cinnamon ice cream for dessert, accompanied by a glass of the house red and enjoy Sa Carboneria’s innate charm.

The Skinny Kitchen

Deli, Restaurant, Spanish

With the memorable slogan “Eat clean. Rave dirty”, The Skinny Kitchen commits itself to providing healthier options in Ibiza’s culinary scene. Its ethos is the brainchild of four friends who saw a gap in the market for a restaurant that wouldn’t leave its diners over-stuffed. Offering a range of low-calorie cocktails, dinners and breakfasts, The Skinny Kitchen strips back its dishes without compromising on taste. Their tortilla pizzas and paleo pancakes are favorites, letting diners eat well and leave guilt-free.

La Bodega

Restaurant, Bodega, Spanish, Tapas

With a philosophy of “quality by tradition”, La Bodega pays homage to its Spanish heritage with an extensive tapas menu. This traditional feel is contributed to by the restaurant’s quaint location up in the old town against the fort walls and its mixture of clientele—both locals and guests. Try the octopus for a taste of something completely different, or the ceviche and patatas bravas if you want an authentic taste of Spain. Outside seating is in great demand, so if you want to experience the full buzz of the restaurant and feel the town spring to life as evening creeps forward, be sure to book ahead.

La Casita

Restaurant, Mediterranean

La Casita—”The Cottage”—has been a popular haunt of both locals and visitors to the town of Santa Eulalia for thirty years. Located off the main tread of the town, the restaurant’s outdoor seating area provides a particularly serene and intimate ambiance, complete with pond and flora. An eclectic and diverse menu offers something for every diner. Recommended dishes include the chateaubriand for two, served with fresh vegetables and potato croquettes, drizzled with béarnaise sauce, or the spinach salad with goat’s cheese soufflé and the magret of duck. Austrian owner Johannes combines European precision and elegance with Spanish flair to make an evening at La Casita an unforgettable experience.

Donde Marian y Miguel

Restaurant, Mediterranean

A bit of a walk from the town of Santa Eulària des Riu, Donde Marian y Miguel is a culinary gem hidden on the outskirts. Promising the tastes of Spain, this restaurant and grill serves up delicious steaks, paellas and local fish dishes. With a large porch, covered terrace, indoor lounge and outside garden terrace, whatever the weather and whatever ambiance you’re after, Donde Marian y Miguel can provide the perfect setting.
