The Hussar Grill

Steak with grilled mushrooms, tomato and potato toppings

The Hussar Grill is famous for offering its customers an award winning experience built on excellent customer service, great food and smooth drinks since 1964. Now regarded as one of South Africa’s premier grill rooms, Hussar’s only serves the best, Class-A, grain-fed beef and game. To ensure you choose the meat that will be perfect for you, the grill even offers a ‘viewing session’ of your meat before you eat; their meat board displays the raw meat cuts while the knowledgeable staff explain how the process of preparation differs for each cut of meat. The house specialty is the Hussar Carpetbagger which is a dish combining stuffed fillet mignon with a combination of smoked oysters, Cheddar cheese and topped off with a brandy and wholegrain mustard sauce (R169).

Paranga

Eye level with the beach, Paranga offers amazing seaside views whether you sit outside in range of the ocean spray or in the cozy, intimate interior. With an enormous variety of food, all with a distinctly Capetonian feel, customers can choose from salad, sushi, seafood or selected meats. A particular favorite from the seafood section is the delectable grilled Kingklip with warm tartare and tomato sauce, fresh peas, diced potato, gem lettuce, boiled egg, fresh herbs and capers in lemon cream.

Cafe Caprice

‘Gorgeous’ pretty much sums up Café Caprice. The place, the people, the drinks are all exceptionally stunning. Previously recommended for the ‘World Class’ mixology award, drinks are created with passion, precision and pride. Enjoy these perfectly crafted concoctions whilst watching the sun set over the ocean between the pillars and the palm trees. You can even head over the road and sit with your cocktails on the sand, along with other members of the Caprice crowd. A particular cocktail recommendation for those who are finding it hard to decide: Botanical Gardener, a mix of rosemary and lemon infused Tanqueray No. 10 with fresh fruit zest topped with Hibiscus tea soda.

Codfather Seafood & Sushi

With wood panelling and racks of wine on classically dusty shelves, the Codfather is a warm and open space with a roaring fire as its centerpiece and a sushi belt adorning one side. The menu is full of fresh and perfectly prepared seafood, making the restaurant a seafood lover’s dream.

Mezepoli Meze & Wine Bar

A recent addition to the Camps Bay beachfront, Mezepoli Meze and Wine Bar is an exciting fusion of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisines. With generous and crowd wowing servings, each meze dish is perfectly paired with one of Mezepoli’s carefully selected wines. The perfect urban dining experience, Mezepoli offers food-on-the-go for the tired and fed up workers who want to relax and enjoy their evenings off with a refreshing cocktail and a table full of promptly prepared meze in front of them.

Azure Restaurant, 12 Apostles Hotel And Spa

Overlooking the sparkling Atlantic Ocean between Table Mountain National Park and the iconic mountain range of the Twelve Apostles, Azure is a multiple award-winning restaurant forming part of the 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa. With a menu that includes meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes, Azure restaurant brings to the table the best of African cuisine including the world renowned Cape Malay Curry which is an authentic Cape curry combining chicken and prawns in a sauce that is slightly sweet but also ferociously spicy (R205).

Zenzero

The decadent and luxurious decor inside Zenzero creates a startling contrast to the al fresco style dining that is most often found along the beachfront in Camps Bay. With plush alcoves that look rose gold in the reflection of the glittering chandeliers that give the place its warm and welcoming glow, you’ll be quite dazzled. Despite this deceivingly soft appearance, however, Zenzero packs a feisty Italian punch in every aspect: food, drink and lively atmosphere. Risotto is Zenzero’s signature dish and is not to be missed if you’re having trouble deciding what to eat first.
