This hidden café is world-famous and known for its incredible views of the Bay of Tangier. Open since 1921, it retains the décor from this period, giving it a vintage, old-school atmosphere. Iconic bands such as the Rolling Stones and The Beatles even visited this café. The restaurant is nestled along a cliff. Though famous, Café Hafa is also quite elusive. It can be hard to find, and there are no definitive opening hours or even phone number for contact, but that just means you’re guaranteed an adventure and a feeling of victory when you discover this magical Moroccan locale.

Café A L’anglaise

This charming sidewalk café is reminiscent of dining at a friend’s home. The owner greets each customer personally before preparing their meal. She also happens to be an interior designer, so the decor inside is very welcoming and pleasing to the eye. Some walls act as a gallery, and feature art from local Moroccan artists. Enjoy fresh juices, crispy, flavorful chicken dishes, and traditional couscous.

Le Saveur du Poisson

Le Saveur du Poisson, locally known as Popeye’s, is an extremely popular restaurant in Tangier. There are only 7 tables in this cozy place, so be sure to arrive early to get a seat. The menu is completely fixed and comes with five to six courses, including bread and olives as an appetizer, a seafood soup, seafood tagine, dessert, and more. The food is tasty and traditional Moroccan cuisine, while the atmosphere is antique and rustic.
