The Best Camping and Glamping Experiences You Can Have
Our small-group trips are all about immersing you in a destination, and there’s no better way of doing that then by embracing nature with your accommodation. From desert camps to luxury glamping sites, these are the best camping experiences you can have with Culture Trip.
Desert Camp Jaimas Madu – Epic Morocco
There’s something particularly serene about camping out in the desert, with nothing else to be seen other than rolling dunes stretching out as far as the eye can see. There’s also something extra special about sleeping in the world’s largest, most iconic hot desert – the Sahara. That’s where you’ll find this oasis, nestled amid the golden sands of Erg Chebbi. The cosy haima tents are traditionally decorated and come with private bathrooms and ensuite showers – hot water and electricity, of course – white mint tea and hearty Berber desert cuisine is served around a campfire, or in the communal tent. You’ll spend a night at Jaimas Madu Camp on our comprehensive 11-day tour of Morocco. Our stay includes a wine tasting, followed by a stargazing session with a professional astronomer. The following morning we’ll rise early to go on a memory-making camel ride through the Sahara at sunrise – talk about bucket-list experiences.
Memories Aicha Camp – Discover Jordan
Natural landscapes don’t get more jaw-dropping than the towering red-rock canyons of Wadi Rum, a dusty desert valley in the heart of Jordan. It’s otherworldly aesthetic has made it a favourite sandbox for major Hollywood blockbusters, particularly those set on far-away desert planets, and there’s something inherently transportive about the place, which has now made it one of the most desirable glamping spots on the planet. This luxury desert camp is tucked away within a sheltered canyon, with a combination of traditional tents and panoramic dome tents, all featuring king-size beds, air-conditioning and an ensuite bathroom. There is an onsite library, terrace and barbecue area, as well as a huge tented restaurant serving a variety of dishes using fresh local ingredients. Our favourite chill-out spot, however, is without doubt the shisha cafe built directly into the canyon. Our Discover Jordan trip features a night spent at Memories Aicha Camp, including a comprehensive 4×4 tour of Wadi Rum, followed by an evening stargazing experience back at the camp.
