The Top Restaurants In Weston, Florida

A suburban south Florida community that sprang up on the outskirts of Fort Lauderdale in the 1960s, Weston might be a fairly new city but in its short existence has developed a vibrant culinary scene. Here you can find everything from gourmet tapas and authentic Italian to classic steakhouse fare and old-school American diner eats. We’ve lined up the best local eats and where to find them.

Entretapas

For a real taste of Spanish culinary tradition, look no further than Entretapas. The chic restaurant opened its doors in 2011 and has since gained quite the reputation for its gourmet tapas, paellas and other classic Spanish dishes. Go with friends and grab a selection of tapas to share such as the patatas bravas, Burgos blood sausage, and seafood ceviche. Follow up with entrées like grilled squid with chimichurri sauce or a steak and Manchego cheese sandwich. The paellas are a must try as well, with options like arroz negro (with squid and squid ink) and paella de mariscos (shrimp, squid, mussels, fish and scallops) to choose from. Spanish beer and live flamenco music and dancing every Friday and Saturday add to the authentic ambience.

Lucille’s American Café

Nostalgic dining with a 21st century twist is the name of the game at Lucille’s American Café, an upscale 1940s-style diner dishing up classic American comfort foods in Weston since 1999. Its interior is stylish but laid back with comfy booths, checkered floors and a long open kitchen that together conjure up a retro luncheonette vibe. While diners will find plenty of simple, classic dishes on the menu (think homemade meatloaf and three-cheese macaroni) they also have options like grilled mahi mahi sandwich and southwest-style chipotle chicken. Save room for dessert, though because with options like fresh blueberry pie, homemade bread pudding and banana split, you won’t be able to resist.

Acquolina

The clue is in Acquolina’s name; translated to English, it means ‘mouthwatering’ and that’s exactly the experience diners can expect on a trip to this elegant Italian restaurant. Focusing on Southern Italian cuisine, Acquolina offers a tempting menu with classic dishes like veal parmigiana and frutti di mare, featured alongside signature plates such as Chilean sea bass in a sun-dried tomato and caper sauce, or house-made gnocchi with pesto, all complemented by a diverse wine list. Acquolina’s interior is as splendid as its food; a beautifully styled dining room makes up most of the restaurant, but its waterfront patio is undoubtedly its most romantic spot.

Mochika Peru Bistro

Hip, stylish and serving an eclectic range of delicious Peruvian dishes, it is no wonder Mochika Peru Bistro is one of Weston’s favorite restaurants. Since opened in 2012, the restaurant has been delighting diners with fare like arroz con mariscos (jasmine rice, calamari, octopus and jumbo shrimp simmered in a carrot broth and white wine reduction) and lomo saltado (filet mignon wok-fried with onion, tomato and Peruvian sauce, served with sweet potato compote). Cocktails like the classic South American pisco sour are served as well, and live Latin music gives Mochika a lively buzz on weekends.

I Love Tacos

It isn’t just big talk, they really do have a fondness for that classic Mexican dish at I Love Tacos. Over 10 different tacos feature on the vibrant, buzzy little restaurant’s menu with so many tempting variations, from the chicken tinga (shredded chicken breast with tomato chipotle sauce) to the chef special cochinita pibil, with shredded pork, pickled habanero and red onion. While tacos may be king, there are still plenty of other Mexican eats to choose from, including flautas, burritos, enchiladas, tostadas as well as Mexican beer, margaritas and micheladas to wash them down with.

My Organic Corner

Undoubtedly one of Weston’s healthiest dining options, My Organic Corner is a cozy, stylish café specializing in vegetarian and vegan dishes crafted from 100 per cent organic produce. Go for breakfast and get a nutritious kick start to the day with a peanut butter and banana bagel or scrambled eggs with kale and tomato; or grab a healthy, hearty lunch with options like the baked falafel wrap or Cuban quinoa bowl (black beans, tricolor quinoa, avocado and tomato with garlic sauce). A range of organic smoothies, veggie juices and shots are also served.

Ceviche Arigato

Ceviche Arigato’s name is a pretty good hint as to what diners have in store with a trip to the elegant little restaurant: a clever combination of classic Peruvian cuisine and Japanese staples make it one of the most diverse dining options in town. Some plates are strictly more Peruvian or Japanese than others, like the tuna tataki tapas or lomo saltado, but to get a taste of what the restaurant is all about, opt for dishes like the Miami Heat sushi roll (shrimp tempura, avocado and fresh tuna topped with fried sweet potato) or the signature ceviche with fresh fish, lime, soy sauce, mustard, avocado and wasabi. These dishes are where Ceviche Arigato’s clever fusion of cuisines really comes into play.

Tarantella Ristorante

Located in the heart of Weston Town Center, Tarantella Ristorante serves up some of the best-loved Italian eats in the area. The venue is a vibrant, welcoming space decked in bright colors and unique touches like hand painted tiles by Italian artist Nino Parrucca. Tarantella is open for lunch and dinner daily and offers a menu brimming with Italian classics. Choose from hearty pasta dishes, gourmet brick oven pizzas and entrées including osso bucco and grilled salmon in piccata sauce. There’s even a number of ‘heart healthy’ options, including hearty minestrone soup and seafood salad, but non-dieting diners will want to save room for Tarantella’s delicious homemade desserts.
