There’s a very wide range of nightlife and bars in Silicon Valley. Some bars are much more upscale, others are great to sit and catch a game and then there are the totally casual dive bars. We’ve put together a list of the best bars in Silicon Valley.

1. Haberdasher

A good time awaits at Haberdasher in San Jose; an underground speakeasy-style bar, with bartenders sporting 1920s attire to complete the setting. The crafted cocktails are absolutely delicious, and the service is next level great. Haberdasher is the Silicon Valley booze destination for a memorable and vintage time.

2. The Tap Room

The drinks and food at The Tap Room raise the standard of the bar experience. The beer selection is expansive, there’s something for every taste. This is definitely a more laid-back spot for the upscale Palo Alto area and feels like a little breath of fresh air. There’s even arcade games to egg on your inner child. Catch a game here, sit back, order a beer and some wings. You won’t be disappointed.

3. Paper Plane

This bar has an upscale look with a casual attitude. Pull up a chair at the long bar inside Paper Plane and grab a drink from one of the attentive bartenders. Even if you’re not sure what you feel like sipping, the bartenders here are sure to whip something up on the spot to please. Paper Plane’s spirits collection is massive, practically guaranteeing a delicious experience.

5. The Old Pro

All that’s needed for a good time is pulling up a chair during college football season at The Old Pro sports bar. Fans of nearby Stanford University’s football team flock to this bar for the drinks, bites and team camaraderie. If you’re not interested in watching the current game on one of the many TVs, on certain days there’s even a mechanical bull to ride!

6. Sports Page

Patrons not only can watch their favorite team play at Sports Page, but there’s both ping pong and even a volleyball court with actual sand at which patrons can flex their competitive muscles. A vast selection of beer, great cocktails and yummy bar food make up this popular sports spot located right by the infamous Google campus.

7. Bierhaus

Bierhaus consists of a lovely beer garden that will surely bring out the German in us all. Locally brewed beers makeup most of the nearly 20 rotating draft beers here. Both American and German dishes can be ordered here, adding to the Germanic experience. Even the benches around the pub were imported from Germany. The diverse drink and food menu will keep guests coming back time and time again.

8. Bert's Alibi

This casual Mountain View watering hole is a great for place for dive lovers, both locals and tourists alike. Bert’s Alibi offers a no-frills bar with great drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. The service is friendly and welcoming. Two pool tables are on the floor, and there are almost always fellow players waiting for a challenge.

9. Vino Locale

The atmosphere is something special at Vino Locale. The wine bar is set in a home, which includes a lovely backyard, that’s over 100 years old. How’s that for authentic and cozy? The bartenders are attentive and friendly, and the owners treat you just like family. Live music plays at Vino Locale on most nights too. A beautiful selection of regional wines and the romantic ambiance all make this wine bar a perfect date spot.

10. The Rose & Crown

The Rose & Crown Pub is a favorite among students from the nearby university as well as many of the techies of Silicon Valley.
