Paragould is a small Arkansas town with a number of historical sites. The town played a part in the economic expansion of the area in the 1800s due to its railroad links, and it still has plenty of picturesque architecture from the time. It has built up a great reputation in Paragould for serving tempting dishes such as salads, sandwiches, and other light bites using the freshest of ingredients. Owned by a Paragould local and almost always busy with customers, Kiss the Cook is a lovely place in which to get a feel for the town.

Skinny J’s of Paragould is set in a lovely old brick building which makes for a cool and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant primarily serves burgers and steaks, plus classic American cuisine: hot wings, bacon cheddar burgers, New York strips, and cheesesteak sandwiches are all popular favorites. The restaurant is a little more expensive than many other local food joints, but the huge portions as well as its location in the fashionable downtown area of Paragould justifies the prices.

As one of the few Mexican options in the area, Don Jose is an excellent place to enjoy this kind of cuisine. It has a lovely selection of dishes and accompanying sauces or dips to choose from, with fresh and crispy tortilla chips to go with everything.
