There’s nothing quite like a cold beer after a day well spent in the Alps. Whether you’ve been skiing, snowboarding or hiking, Davos will not leave you hanging for fun come nightfall. We pick the best of the bar scene in this luxurious Alpine city.

Davos

Pöstli Club

Come to Pöstli Club to see and be seen. One of the most happening places to be in Davos, Pöstli Club is a popular gathering place for celebrities and athletes alike. It’s little wonder; it’s a chic place with rugged alpine wood finishings contrasted with modern lightning, cubic glass tables and sleek benches. Plus local DJs who constantly spin dance sets to keep the atmosphere buzzing. A word in advance: no one under 23 is permitted to enter, and a strict dress code is enforced, so stop at home to spruce up if you’re still frosty from the slopes.

Beer Flight

Monstein Brewery

Brewery, Winery

Tucked away high in the Alps, this brewery is an event unto itself: think of a visit here as a sort of beer pilgrimage. Located at an impressive altitude of 5,300 feet, Monstein Brewery is officially the highest brewery in all of Europe, but only a 15-minute drive up from Davos city center. The brewery offers beer tours and tastings from its cellar in the coziest atmosphere imaginable. Their beer is brewed using mountain spring water, Swiss hops and organic malt. If beer isn’t your fancy, they also produce their own whiskey and schnapps.

Ex-Bar

Bar, Pub Grub, European

Ex-Bar is Davos’ most popular watering hole. Being right in the centre of town, Ex-Bar is easy to find and provides a relaxed, convivial setting to play foosball with friends, or watch the game on the big screen with a local brew and warm food after a tiring day of skiing. Expect the atmosphere to get more energetic as the evening wears on; Ex-Bar is known for its great music and always ends up packed before the night’s over.

Chami Bar

Chami Bar is the ideal spot to kick back and relax with a pre or post-ski beer. Their décor is cozy and unpretentious, with heavy wooden tables, brick walls, and thick fur rugs and throws on the seats to keep you warm. This is the kind of bar that looks innocent at first, but charms you into staying out until the wee hours, helped along by its extensive whiskey collection.

Cabanna Club

If you still have some pent-up energy left after the slopes, Cabanna club is a great place to let off some steam and dance the night away to pop and techno beats. Located right beside Davos’ other great dance spot, Ex-Bar (for easy barhopping), you’re guaranteed great music and a swanky atmosphere here. The crowd is generally around 25 and up, and the club gets pretty packed on Saturday evenings. Dress to dance, and come prepared to break a sweat.
