Restaurant Bellevue des Alpes

Piz Gloria, Schilthorn

A historic hotel affording some of the finest views of the peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, Restaurant Hotel Bellevue des Alpes is situated in one of the key areas of Jungfrau. You can choose to eat al fresco in the summer in their terrace outside, or sit in the cozy, quaint interiors inside. Through each window you have a panoramic view of the massifs. Their desserts are especially delicious; try the apple fruitcake with raisins.

Piz Gloria

Located at the peak of Schilthorn, the Piz Gloria is a rotating restaurant that gives you a 360° panorama of the Alps. The restaurant is James Bond-themed as it appeared in the film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The restaurant has a sumptuous breakfast buffet as well as a hot meal menu for lunch, and small meals served throughout the day. To enjoy the best of the views, it’s best to reserve a table by the windows, as those may fill up quickly (particularly during better weather).

Restaurant Caprice

Enjoy the views of Jungfrau from a cozy, warmly-lit banquet room during winters or eat in a south-facing, sunlit terrace during summers – it’s all up to you at Restaurant Caprice, Wengen. This gourmet restaurant takes great pride in the sense of cozy hospitality that it affords and the delicious, unusual dishes it offers. The minestrone with basil always tastes fresh and delicious, and their lamb stew with thyme gravy is another specialty. The service is warm and friendly and waiters ensure that you are having a good time.

La Grotte Blumental

A small restaurant in the hill-station of Mürren, La Grotte Blumental is part of the Hotel Blumental. Their food is healthy, robust Swiss food – expect deliciously-prepared fondues, well-cooked filet steaks, and, of course, the favorite Bratwurst. The interiors of this hotel are lovely and home-like, featuring stone walls, wooden ceilings, lace curtains and cowbells. Be sure to stop by for a quiet and warm evening with some traditional Swiss food.

Barry’s

For a filling, inviting meal, choose Barry’s – their Mongolian barbecue meal is an excellent choice, with several options of vegetables, meat, fish, and prawns. There’s also a soup option, and they have an extensive salad bar. Apart from the popular Mongolian barbecue menu there’s also a traditional Swiss menu that has fondue as well as meat dishes like venison.

C & M

Da Sina Restaurant

A cafe-bar-restaurant, C und M (C&M) promises a variety of food and drink to look forward to, and usually fulfills the high expectations of its customers. Their soups of the day are especially delicious, particularly their lemongrass soup, which has a Thai flavor to it and is rich and filling. Apart from that, they have a variety of sandwiches, salads, desserts, and several gourmet hot dishes (the rack of lamb is a favorite).

Da Sina

An atmospheric, rustic restaurant set in the charming car-free town of Wengen, Da Sina promises an inviting, cozy meal. It’s an Italian restaurant with a wide range of authentic pizzas, pastas, and other Italian dishes. The portions are generous and well worth the price. If you fancy food that’s not Italian, there’s also a steak menu and a Swiss meal menu (they serve both fondue and raclette). There’s also a pub inside, which is a popular place in Wengen to enjoy a drink.

Tham Kok Keong

A delicious Asian restaurant, Tham Kok Keong is a local favorite, especially as it is very reasonably priced for the area. The owners, Tham and his wife, are a very friendly couple who see individually to your needs and are always happy to take your feedback, as well as customize the food at your request. The dishes are prepared freshly in front of you by Tham, who was a five-star chef before coming to live in Mürren – and this is evident in his creations.

Restaurant Hotel Alpenhof

As traditional a Swiss hotel and restaurant as it gets, Hotel Alpenhof is located in Grindelwald and offers magnificent views of the peaks. The restaurant has an elaborate menu with several varieties of rösti. Their cheese menu has enough types of fondue and raclette to satisfy even the most discerning cheese lover, and they’re happy to serve an extra portion of potatoes with the fondue, free of charge. There are a variety of pork, veal and beef dishes, and the restaurant has a pasta-themed buffet on Mondays.

Bergrestaurant Winteregg

The famous mountain restaurant of Winteregg is located between Lauterbrunnen and the mountain-station of Mürren, and is accessible by foot on a panoramic trail. The restaurant is a very typical Swiss restaurant, serving all the traditional dishes. There’s a wonderful breakfast buffet, with a variety of breads, jams, pastries, cold meats, cheeses and so forth. Their home-made pies are also well-appreciated.
