An ever-growing art scene, ranging from stunning exhibitions to cultural art shows, has always been a huge part of Bahamian culture. Here are the best art galleries in the Bahamas.

National Art Gallery of The Bahamas

Situated in the heart of Nassau, the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB) is the premier arts institution of the region. The museum is housed at the historic Villa Doyle mansion built in the 1860s. The museum’s mission is to showcase the finest artwork created by Bahamians and, in doing so, it houses the widest selection of paintings, sculptures, textiles, photographs and much more. The museum also hosts various art events including workshops and community projects.

Antonius Roberts Studio and Art Gallery at Hillside House

In the Bahamas, Antonius Roberts is the most noted artist and sculptor of recent times. The influential national icon houses most of his paintings and sculptures at the Hillside House, a 19th-century mansion in downtown Nassau that was transformed into his own studio and gallery. The art space is also a popular place for small concerts, book signings and small craft market events.

Wenshua Art Gallery

Generations of artists in Exuma longed for a gallery on the island where they could showcase the best of their artwork. The Wenshua Art Gallery, founded by proprietor and artist Wendy Cartwright, provides a space for them to do just that. Art at the Wenshua gallery ranges from landscape paintings inspired by the pristine island to driftwood sculptures. Many of the artists featured at the gallery are native to Exuma.

Princess Street Gallery

Located by the harbour in Dunmore Town, the picturesque Princess Street Gallery features some of the Bahamas’ most talented artists that have created a range of work, including watercolours, oils, acrylics, photo, etchings, landscapes, and portraits. Many of the work is inspired by the pink sand, turquoise sea, Victorian-styled cottages and people of Harbour Island. The gallery is located in the centre of Harbour Island, making it the perfect place to go for some sight-seeing.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet.
