House of Small Wonder

Just a short walk from the Bedford Avenue subway station, House of Small Wonder is a quaint and cozy café retreat offering simple yet delicious brunch options with a Japanese twist. Their menu, which includes organic egg scramble and avocado with goat cheese on multigrain bread, also features inspired dishes such as Sashimi Zuke Don (sashimi marinated in soy sauce with avocado, sweet mushrooms, and egg served over sushi rice) and Okinawan Taco Rice (pork, chopped vegetables, cheese and a fried egg with rice). In addition to the impressive fusion menu, House of Small Wonder also offers outdoor seating, where visitors can lounge among ash trees under a greenhouse roof.

Juliette

Located just a few short blocks from Williamsburg’s McCarren Park, Juliette is a charming haunt adorned with antique Parisian accents. The floor-to-ceiling windows, large dining area and spacious rooftop garden, complete with outdoor bar, contribute to the many reasons why Juliette is worth a visit. The menu is varied, offering plates such as Dutch pancakes with lemon zest and crème fraiche as well as grass-fed beef burgers with pommes frites, so everyone is sure to find something they will love.

Marlow & Sons

Marlow & Sons is a little gem on Broadway, located just over the Williamsburg Bridge and a short walk from Bedford Avenue’s many attractions. Whether you’re in the mood for something light such as a scone with cream and jam or you’re looking to go all out with their poached eggs and biscuits, Marlow & Sons has something for everyone. Their menu changes daily, so you can easily become a repeat customer.

Miranda Restaurant

Since opening on North 9th and Berry in 2007, Miranda Restaurant chefs and owners Sasha and Mauricio Miranda have been serving up healthy, locally-sourced Latin American and Italian fusion food. Huevos con mole (eggs sunny-side up with mashed black beans and mole) and noqui-verde (potato and kale dumplings, squash, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, sweet peas and garlic), served with a variety of house-made sodas, are just a couple of the treats found on their menu. Housed in a 120-year-old building, Miranda Restaurant was refurbished using sustainable materials and the owners continue to use energy-efficient equipment in the kitchen. Just two blocks from the East River, Miranda is a great place to stop for brunch before or after perusing the Williamsburg Flea.

Rabbithole

Sweet Chick

One of Bedford Avenue’s many culinary gems, Sweet Chick is best known for their awesome, 24-hour brined chicken, rosemary and mushroom waffles, an innovative cocktail list and a relaxed vibe. Other variations on chicken and waffles appear under their menu specials, including General Tso chicken and waffles, Buffalo chicken and waffles and so on.
