2. Crudo Y Sin Censura

Food Truck, Restaurant, German, Chilean

One thing is certain: you can’t leave Santiago without trying a crudo, a German–Chilean delicacy similar to steak tartare. And Crudo y Sin Censura is the perfect place to have your first bite. Crudos are usually made from toast, marinated meat with lemon and a variety of different sauces. You can either enjoy them in the restaurant here or order some to take out, and they even have a popular food truck which circles the streets at weekends. Don’t miss the sandwiches or salmon tartare, too.

3. Astrid & Gastón

In 1994, Astrid Gutsche and Gastón Acurio arrived in Miraflores, Perú, from Paris, where they both studied the culinary arts. With an emphasis on Peruvian and French fusion food, they founded their first restaurant in Miraflores, and some years later expanded through Latin America to open a restaurant in Providencia. Their menu changes according to the available local products of the season, and the newest addition to their menu includes a five-course option featuring rockfish with gnocchi, squid ink sauce and an enormous sharing platter of sorbets.

5. Sanguchería La Gloria

“Peruvian sandwiches for demanding palates” is how Sanguchería La Gloria describes itself, and its characterization is on point: fresh and top-quality sandwich options here make this a great spot for light bites in Providencia. From signature hamburgers to turkey sandwiches, you can pre-order all meals online, or visit the restaurant to enjoy the traditional ambiance and decor of the venue. The chicharrón is a must-try, a tasty dish made from fried pork rinds and pork belly.
