Leblon is Rio de Janeiro’s equivalent of London’s Chelsea, where property is expensive, beautiful people grace the sidewalks, and the best bars and restaurants seek a spot on its classy streets. To see an upscale version of Rio, there is no better place to stay than Leblon. Being a small neighborhood means hotel choice is limited, yet what is on offer is, unsurprisingly, exceptional.

Hotel Leblon Inn

Hotel

Hotel Leblon Inn is a hotel with the feel of a residential flat, giving guests the sense that they are living in Rio rather than just visiting. All the staff speak English and are ready with great tips for sight-seeing around the city, and there is a complimentary breakfast that is satisfying, varied, and delicious. The rooms have free wifi, washing machines, and kitchens, yet daily room cleaning is still provided. The hotel is located in one of Leblon’s hottest spots for restaurants and bars, and it is near the beach, too.

The name of this hotel says it all. Ask people what they think of when they hear the name ‘the Ritz’ and luxury, class, and a formidable price tag inevitably come to mind. The Ritz in Leblon fulfills all those expectations while also being in one of Rio de Janeiro’s best neighborhoods. Complimentary breakfast is served in the hotel’s upscale restaurant, and there is a tropical-themed bar well-suited to this tropical city. The hotel also includes a spa, a sauna, a fitness center, and an indoor pool.

Located on a safe yet busy street in Leblon, this hotel is within easy walking distance of the beach, the metro, and a good selection of great bars and restaurants. The hotel is more low-key than some others in the neighborhood, yet low-key in Leblon still means relatively fancy and upscale. The rooms are minimalistic, with the suites fitted with microwaves, coffee makers, and a dining area. Some rooms have balconies that are great for people watching. The complimentary breakfast is a large buffet with plenty of options such as breads, fruits, cereals, hams, cheeses, and hot items.

Monsieur Le Blond

Hotel, Apartment

It’s hard to find an inexpensive hotel in Leblon, but Monsieur Le Blond fits the bill. The prices are reasonable, especially when compared to the other, more glamorous hotels in the neighborhood. The hotel is a collection of apartments yet still has a 24-hour reception service available. The rooms and communal areas are simple and reflect the price, and the hotel hosts business people on working trips as often as it does tourists on vacation. Yet for those looking for a secure place to deposit their belongings and a clean bed for the night, this place is ideal, with a great location near some of Leblon’s best bars and restaurants.
